Hi everybody,
Victoria here and today I'll be guiding us through a short awareness of breath meditation.
This practice can be done sitting up or lying down.
Just begin to find a position that allows for you to energetically lengthen through your spine,
Creating space in the body,
Creating space in between each cycle of breath.
You have the option to close the eyes or soften the gaze if that feels safe in your body today and if you choose to keep the eyes open,
Just finding a focal point,
A visual anchor that you can come back to,
Perhaps a background noise in your space.
As we begin to settle into our bodies and out of our thinking minds,
Notice what is arising right now in your experience.
Noticing the physical sensations present in your body.
Noticing the surface that you're resting on top of.
Noticing the clothes touching your skin.
The breath moving in and out of the nostrils.
Each inhale nourishes our system.
Each exhale cleanses our body.
Our bodies are in constant state of communication with us,
But we must be at ease in order to listen.
So maybe you ask yourself,
What is my body and my breath trying to communicate to me today?
What is the message that my vessel is carrying?
Each inhale nourishes our system.
Each exhale cleanses our body.
When we take the time to listen to our bodies,
We honor this vessel that carries the whole entirety of us.
We honor the container for our life force and all of the wisdom that our bodies carry.
So take a moment here to have a conversation with your breath and truly make yourself available.
Even if the mind wanders,
That is totally fine because that's what minds do.
Can we gently and kindly bring our attention back to our breaths?
Can we allow ourselves to return to this present moment?
When we honor the ever-present life force within us,
We are also able to recognize it in others and that's the whole point of this work.
Knowing that you are whole and complete just as you are in this moment.
Each inhale nourishes our system.
Each exhale cleanses our body.
Let's take three rounds of communal breath so we can ease back into the outer world.
So as you're ready,
One deep inhale,
Expanse and exhale,
Again filling up the lungs and to empty the lungs.
Last breath,
Biggest breath you've taken so far.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Let it all go.
If you've closed the eyes or soften the gaze,
Begin to come back to your space,
Meeting the world through your senses,
Taking a moment to readjust to your surroundings.
And I hope you're able to carry this sense of awareness and presence with you throughout the rest of your day.
Thank you so much for practicing with me my friend.
