Hello,
I'm Brendan Kennedy and welcome to today's meditation.
Being present during the business day is key to making the right business decisions.
Whatever future you're manifesting is composed of nows that you create in the present moment.
But let's face it,
Sometimes the day can get away from you.
Too many meetings,
Too many emails,
Too many calls.
It can be hard to be in the present moment when you feel like you can't get a moment of peace.
Your breath can be a useful tool to awaken your power of presence and today we'll do a practice I use often to refocus during the day.
Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
And when you're settled in,
Let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
And let that go through your mouth.
Let's do that one more time.
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
And release.
As you let your breathing return to normal,
I invite you to begin to gently focus your awareness on your breath.
How is your breath showing up for you right now?
Perhaps you're breathing in through your mouth or only through your nose.
Is the air flowing more easily through one nostril or another?
Is the breath very shallow and quick?
Or is it long and slow?
Notice where the air reaches in your body.
Is it filling your chest?
Or is it going lower down?
Perhaps all the way into your upper or even your lower belly.
Let's explore our breath for the next few minutes to awaken the power of presence.
We'll begin by breathing only with your mouth and you can feel free to place your fingertips on specific locations we'll breathe into as we track down the body.
First,
Let's breathe into the top of your chest.
Place your fingertips where your collarbone meets at the top of your chest and breathe into that space.
Next,
Move down to your heart and breathe into your heart.
Next,
Move down to your solar plexus about halfway between the bottom of your ribcage and your belly button.
Now breathe into your solar plexus.
Next,
Place your fingertips on your belly button and breathe into it.
And finally,
Place your fingertips on the space about 3 inches below your belly button and breathe in.
Now let's repeat this process while breathing in through your nose.
Place your fingertips where your collarbone meets at the top of your chest and breathe into that space.
Next move down to your heart and breathe into it.
Next move down to your solar plexus and breathe into it.
Next place your fingertips on your belly button and breathe into it.
And finally,
Place your fingertips on the space about 3 inches below your belly button and breathe in.
And finally,
Let's repeat this process while breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Place your fingertips where your collarbone meets at the top of your chest and breathe into that space.
Next move down to your heart and breathe into it.
Next move down to your solar plexus and breathe into it.
Next place your fingertips on your belly button and breathe into it.
And finally,
Place your fingertips on the space about 3 inches below your belly button and breathe in.
And now move your awareness to any place you feel your energy may be constricted in your body right now.
Whether that is on the path from your throat to your lower belly or any other place.
And feel free to place your fingertips there as you just breathe into that space slowly and deeply for the next 30 seconds to release that tension and free that energy.
Just breathe and release.
And now let's take a long slow deep breath in through your nose.
And let that out through your mouth.
Let's do that one more time.
Long slow deep breath in through the nose.
And let that go.
Throughout the rest of your day,
If you start to feel too rushed or too out of sync,
Use your breath as a way to reconnect to the present moment.
Take a minute to follow the sequence of breaths that we practiced today.
Everything from the top of your chest to your lower belly.
Remember where you put your attention is where you put your energy.
So if you put your energy and your attention into creating the best now,
Then you have the highest chance of creating your best business future too.
