Hi,
I'm Casey with MindBodyIndigo,
And I honor your decision for choosing yourself in this moment.
Life can be good at pulling us outside of ourselves and bodies,
With worry,
With anticipation,
With regret,
Or wondering what if.
Yet the practice of coming back home to our bodies,
Ourselves,
And our hearts is invaluable.
Oftentimes,
Just slowing down and acknowledging with our quiet inner awareness can be the practice grounding us again.
As we know,
When we are grounded,
Our thoughts aren't so busy,
Stress and anxiety soften,
And there's a remembering of that calm place within us that we can often neglect.
And this simple practice of letting our awareness say hello to our body and heart can allow us to move through our days or times of adversity with more ease,
With more trust.
And as you find yourself a comfortable place to rest,
We welcome this slowing down with a deeper breath in through your nose and long exhale out of your mouth,
Receiving the invitation from your breath to be here,
Letting your body begin to soften with each out breath,
Letting the weight of your body settle into gravity to be held by the earth,
And becoming aware of what parts of your body are making contact with the surface supporting you,
Whether you're sitting or lying down,
Noticing that connection in your seat and tailbone,
Maybe along your back,
And letting your awareness drift into your hands and fingers.
What are they making contact with?
Are they touching each other?
Are they touching the ground?
Maybe they're resting in your lap.
And bringing your hands to your body just below your navel,
Letting your hands rest into the support your body is offering,
Feeling the gentle weight of your hands resting over your lower belly,
Noticing the sensation of your own touch here,
This place within us all that be the physical center of our body,
A grounding point for us to land,
Gently settling us into balance.
Your hands might lightly rise and fall with your belly as your body moves with your breath,
Feeling that movement,
Experiencing your breath through your own touch,
This very own rhythm of you,
Your breath,
Your touch,
Your rhythm,
Grounding you into you again,
Deepening your in-breath,
Elongating your out-breath,
And bringing just one hand to your heart,
Feeling the sensation of your own touch here,
Where your own touch is saying,
Hello heart of mine,
I'm here,
I see you,
I hear you,
I feel you,
And I'm here.
Feeling the movement of your breath here in your chest,
And just being in this moment with your breath,
With your body,
With your center,
And with your heart.
And as you sink with this rhythm of you,
There's a remembering that this rhythm is always available to invite you back home,
And gently becoming aware of the ground still supporting you,
Noticing those points of contact once again,
Beginning to feel your body and self again in your space,
Slowly reawakening,
Slowly welcoming yourself back.
Another deeper in-breath.
May you continue to notice your own rhythm.
