This meditation is for anyone who needs a little hope and a little trust brought back to their soul.
Go ahead and find a comfortable place,
Either seated or lying down,
Where you can turn your focus inward for the next five minutes or so.
Once here,
Maybe wiggle your fingers and toes,
Rotate your head back and forth,
Get all your wiggles out.
Come to a place of peace and calm where you begin to focus on your breath.
Focus on the rise of your chest,
Maybe with a little deeper breath,
Even the rise of your belly.
Slowly let it out,
Breathing out of your nose or mouth,
Whichever feels better today.
We'll do this again.
Take another breath in.
Recognizing if thoughts come in as you're breathing in and out,
That's normal.
Let them pass by like clouds floating over you.
Come back to the present moment where you are sitting or lying,
Bringing air in and out of your body.
Cancer is hard.
This diagnosis is so heavy.
And thoughts and feelings swirl around you,
Wondering,
How am I going to do this?
Why is this happening?
Why to me?
Why to my family?
Why God?
How God?
How am I supposed to do this?
On that,
Let's take another breath in.
And as we exhale,
Let's turn all the swirling thoughts off.
Let's put the questions aside.
And let's anchor ourselves.
Let's find yourself in an anchored place of hope.
Just like a ship at sea.
As long as it's anchored as lowered,
Any storm can come.
But the anchor will allow the ship to make it through.
Your hope will ground you.
This storm will pass.
Hope is not lost.
It is not lost on you.
God has plans,
Wonderful,
Joy-filled plans for you,
For your family,
For those you love.
Remember to breathe that joy and power into your lungs.
And let go of the self-doubt with your exhale.
Breathe in God's power and love for you.
Exhale any other story you are telling yourself.
God's hope is a confident expectation.
That means you can sit here,
Eyes closed,
And tell God exactly what you need today.
Let's do this,
God.
Today I need.
.
.
He is listening.
He is here.
Ready and willing to help.
Remember your breath.
Remember that God is all around us,
Even in times of struggle,
And especially during bad storms.
He is our anchor of hope.
Rest in this confidence,
In His promise.
Believe with your soul.
Feel His Spirit sitting with yours.
God's hope is abundant.
All you need is a glimmer of it.
Hold on to it today.
Let's take one more deep breath in.
And slowly let it out.
One more time,
Breath in,
Feeling peace and calm,
And letting go of any self-doubt.
And when you're ready,
Bring back some movement,
Some awareness into your body.
Again,
Wiggle those fingers or toes.
Maybe make a fist.
Release.
Feel free to stay here for longer,
Grounded in this position,
Rooted in prayer for as long as you need.
Or if you're ready,
Go ahead and slowly open your eyes.
And as the storm wages on today,
Remember you are strong and anchored in God's hope and love.
