Beginning this meditation,
Getting comfortable,
Affirm that your consciousness is a safe place.
Let your mind and heart be a sanctuary where you can freely be with however you feel.
Feelings are powerful things.
We often think a feeling spawns from a present or past event,
But perhaps they're about even more than that.
Perhaps a feeling can result as well from an intuition,
Or even like dipping a metaphysical toe into an event that hasn't happened yet.
A feeling is also an expression of our own soul,
Our own spirit.
How do you feel is often not a statement of how you're doing in response to what is going on in your everyday life,
But a statement of how much in alignment you are with who you really are and came here to be,
Your spirit.
A feeling,
In other words,
Is a statement of your relationship with your highest self,
And not just what so-and-so said that pissed you off or what anxieties an uncertain future may leave you with.
A feeling is also a deposit of wisdom.
Sometimes it's just as much a message not yet put into words.
Wittgenstein,
The great philosopher,
Once said that that which we don't articulate,
We pass over in silence.
Feelings are silent.
They don't make a sound,
And yet within our psyche there may be nothing louder.
It is an act of emotional immaturity to categorize feelings into good or bad or indifferent.
A better way is to know which feelings highly express you and which highly repress you.
In other words,
A feeling felt that is acknowledged and articulated,
If not verbally,
Than in the acceptance of our own body,
Is always constructive.
A feeling not felt that is denied or avoided,
That causes one's body to reject its own energies,
Is destructive.
No matter what,
A key to overcoming anxiety and depression is not judging your feelings.
It is so much better to listen to them,
And when we do,
We can sometimes feel that feeling into fruition becomes a realization of spirit instead of a hostage-taker of spirit.
I invite you to call forth,
In this sanctuary of your consciousness,
A feeling.
Perhaps at one point you considered it bad.
Perhaps it's a feeling that's been in your life a long time.
Perhaps it just showed up.
But be present to it,
And allow it to take on a color.
What color is this feeling?
Your feeling may have more than one or change colors.
That's okay.
What it become in this form?
What color you're feeling has taken does not need to mean anything.
If there is a symbolic thing to notice,
However,
Is how fully realized or light the color is.
The brighter the color,
Perhaps the more you're feeling it.
The lighter,
The less you know it yet.
This is nothing to have judgment about,
But just continuing to feel the feeling,
See how the shade,
The brightness,
The contrast.
Notice the expression of the color.
See if as you feel this feeling,
The color begins to change.
If it gets darker,
Lighter,
Or brighter.
Just observe this feeling.
Watch it.
Listen to it.
Let it do its own thing in the sanctuary of your own consciousness.
Preferably,
Don't speak to it.
Let it speak through its own unique language to you.
Perhaps there's a part of you that understands this language more than you think.
Giving this feeling a voice,
Ask it the following question.
What do you want me to know?
What is the message you want me to receive?
Again,
Allow the feeling to speak in its own language and do your best to understand in its own way of communicating.
Don't judge the answer this feeling gives you or lack thereof.
Just listen.
You don't have to react.
You don't have to respond.
Realize that if you are giving the feeling words,
That feelings are still non-verbal.
The message you receive may not be in words.
It may not be able to be in words.
But realize again that you speak deeper languages of the heart as well.
And you can always return to this feeling to ask it how it's doing,
To listen to what it wants you to know.
When you've received the message,
Thank the feeling and let it return to its formlessness.
But know,
Trust,
Have faith that its intention is good.
Know for yourself that this feeling cannot have a negative effect in your body or psyche because you know what it has to say.
Now that you've heard it,
You can allow this feeling to return to your spirit.
You can now choose to express and be your spirit fully in the wholeness of your being.
Say to yourself,
I feel my feelings.
My feelings feel me.
I feel my feelings.
My feelings heal me.
I feel my feelings.
My feelings inspire me.
I feel my feelings.
My feelings support me.
