Let's talk about guilt and shame.
You know,
Those heavy,
Quiet feelings that sneak in when we think we've fallen short.
Short of our values,
Or our expectations,
Or maybe someone else's.
And maybe we said something we regret,
Or we didn't show up the way we wanted to.
And these emotions can linger,
Looping over our mistakes and coloring how we see ourselves.
But here's something important.
Guilt and shame aren't the same thing.
Guilt says I did something wrong.
And shame says there's something wrong with me.
One of those can help us grow,
And the other one keeps us stuck.
So,
For the practice,
Let's pause.
Take a breath,
Breathing in,
And out.
And gently ask yourself,
Am I punishing myself,
Or am I learning?
Yeah,
Mistakes are part of being human.
And growth never comes from perfection.
No,
It actually comes from reflection,
Repair,
And choosing to do better next time.
If you're carrying something today,
A past decision,
A word left unsaid,
A version of you that no longer fits,
See if you can meet that weight with compassion.
With honesty,
Yes,
But also with kindness.
And as you breathe,
Remind yourself,
I can hold myself accountable without holding on to pain.
It's like Oprah Winfrey once said,
Forgiveness is giving up the hope that the past could have been any different.
A reminder that letting go isn't forgetting.
It's just freeing yourself to move forward.
You don't have to be perfect to be worthy of love.
You just have to be willing to begin again.
Thank you so much for joining me.
