Living life on your own terms.
Hello lovely souls and welcome.
Today,
I want to talk about something that I think many of us quietly long for.
And that's living life on our own terms.
Not somebody else's version of what life should be like.
Not the expectations we've picked up along the way.
Not what looks good from the outside.
But our life.
Our rhythm.
Our joy and our peace.
And I think many of us,
Especially as we grow and evolve.
There comes a point when we begin asking ourselves.
What actually makes me happy?
What feels right for me.
What do I want my days to feel like?
And those are powerful questions.
Because happiness doesn't always arrive in the big dramatic moments.
It's not always found in ticking boxes or reaching some huge destination.
Sometimes happiness is much quieter than that.
It's of a cup of tea when the house is still.
Fresh air on your face.
A walk with nowhere particular to be.
Perhaps a song that you love.
The sunlight coming through the window.
A deep breath when your shoulders finally soften.
Simple things.
Things that we can miss when we're rushing about,
Or comparing ourselves,
Or trying to keep up with what everyone else seems to be doing.
And the truth is,
Life really is what we make it.
We don't control everything.
Life will always change.
It will challenge us and bring unexpected twists.
But we do get to decide how we meet it.
We get to choose what matters.
We get to create moments of peace.
We get to decide where our energy goes.
We get to notice the beauty around us.
We get to slow down enough to feel our own life.
And living on our own terms doesn't mean every day is perfect.
It doesn't mean never doubting yourself.
It simply means learning to come back to yourself.
Listening in.
Feeling into it,
Trusting your own inner voice just that little bit more.
Letting your life reflect who you really are rather than who you think that you should be.
Maybe what looks like saying yes to something.
You've always wanted to try.
Maybe it looks like saying no without guilt.
Maybe it's creating more rest.
Maybe it's spending more time outdoors.
Maybe it's even laughing more.
Maybe it's deciding that a peaceful,
Simple life is enough for you.
And actually more than enough.
Because there's so much freedom in that.
And I think when we choose to stop chasing the perfect life and start appreciating our real life,
Something within us softens.
We exhale.
We become more present.
We enjoy.
What's already here.
And we begin to realise.
This moment matters too.
Not just the big milestones,
Not just the future,
This ordinary,
Beautiful moment.
And from here,
Happiness becomes something we build gently.
D by D.
Choice by choice.
Moment by precious moment.
So let's take a few minutes together now.
And if you can,
Allow yourself to get comfortable.
And if it feels okay and it's safe to do so,
Softly close your eyes and take a long slow breath in.
And gently let it go.
Another deep breath in,
Feel that breath going through your body.
And release it.
And one more again,
Deep breath in and out Now let your shoulders gently soften.
Unclench that jaw,
Let the stress of the D Fade away.
Let your hands relax.
Just allowing yourself in this small pause.
There's nothing to fix,
There's nothing to work out.
Just being here.
And now,
Imagine yourself walking down the street.
Through a peaceful path.
Notice what's around you.
It may be trees.
Maybe open skies.
You can hear the birdsong.
You can see rabbits playing.
You can see squirrels scuttling up a tree.
You feel a soft breeze on your face,
The sun through the trees.
And ahead of you.
There's a beautiful spot waiting just for you.
Somewhere simple.
A peaceful place.
A comfortable place.
Maybe it's a bench.
Maybe it's a swing on a tree.
It's a place that feels calm and safe.
Take a moment to arrive there.
And as you settle into that place,
Notice how it feels in your body.
A little more spacious,
Certainly more grounded.
And now gently ask yourself.
What truly brings me peace?
Just let the answer rise naturally.
Don't force any answers,
Just notice what comes.
And now ask yourself.
.
.
What simple things!
Make me feel happy.
And alive.
Maybe something comes straight away.
Or maybe it's just a feeling,
And that's okay.
But ask yourself,
What simple things make me feel happy and alive?
Mmm.
And now ask yourself.
If I gave myself permission to live more on my own terms,
What would that look like?
What would I choose more of?
What would I let go?
And just notice,
There's no pressure,
It's only awareness.
But ask yourself,
What would my life look like if I gave myself permission to live more on my own terms?
And as you sit there,
Imagine a warm,
Gentle,
Bright,
White light all around you.
It's soft and calming.
A reminder that your life does not need to look like anyone else's.
Your path is yours.
Your pace is yours.
Your joy is yours.
And quietly repeat to yourself.
I give myself permission to live in a way that feels true to me.
I create happiness in simple,
Everyday moments.
My life does not need to be perfect to be beautiful.
I notice the joy already around me.
I trust myself to create a life that feels meaningful and peaceful.
Now take one more slow,
Deep breath in.
And let it go.
And one more breath.
Feel it go down your belly.
And back up.
And let it go.
And then gently bring your awareness back.
Feeling the seat underneath you.
Feeling the room around you.
Feeling your body.
Wiggling your fingers.
Wiggling your toes.
And whenever you're ready.
Open your eyes.
And just before we finish.
I'll leave you with this.
Your life doesn't have to be extraordinary to be meaningful.
It doesn't have to look impressive.
It doesn't need to make sense to anyone else.
It only needs to feel right to you.
There is beauty in the simple things.
There is happiness in everyday moments.
There is power in choosing what matters to you.
And life really is what you make it.
So enjoy the little things.
Create moments that feel good.
Honor your own pace.
And keep choosing the life that feels like yours.
And thank you for taking this time with me today.
Take care of yourself and I'll speak to you soon.
Much love.
Sera.
