Life is movement. The idea that meditation is stillness is in conflict with the natural laws of the universe. in our Instinctive Meditation® practice, we honour the rhythm and flow of life. We let ourselves be moved by our inner wisdom.

Be free to move.

Many meditation traditions expound the virtues of stillness.

Stillness of mind and as we see everywhere this idea of sitting still with the legs crossed,

The spine tall,

The eyes closed.

In reality even in stillness or apparent stillness there is no stillness.

In every moment since the creation of the universe everything has had energy and motion.

To seek stillness,

To force ourselves to stop all movement of body,

Of mind is in direct contradiction with the fundamental nature of reality.

We are energy in form.

There is movement in every moment.

In meditation let's celebrate our life of motion.

Our desire to flow with the inspiration of our life force is to be honored and cherished.

When you sit,

Stand,

Lie,

Walk in meditation and your body calls to move,

Cherish the inspiration that comes from your soul.

Flow freely with the divine which energizes you.

Is there a particular way in which you move which makes you feel more fully yourself?

To dance,

Shake,

Run.

What movement calls you now?

You can allow this movement to be huge,

Exaggerated,

Expressive in its magnificence or you can feel into the subtleties of tiny movement.

How would you move when you are truly free to express all of who you are?

How do your arms move,

Your fingers,

Your legs,

Your hips,

Your spine?

What shapes does your body create?

Maybe you are dancing on the inside.

Your movement is simply taking you side to side as you sit.

When we create or imagine movement we are sending little micro neurological impulses to our muscles,

Rehearsing life even in an apparent outer stillness.

Allow yourself to move or not.

Feel free to dance like your wild true self calls to you.

Allow life to move you.

Allow life to run the show.

To resist life's movement requires great energy unwisely spent.

Free yourself to the movement that is your natural state.

Give over to the wisdom that is within and allow your body to express your soul's desires.

This pure natural flow is your perfect yoga for this moment.

Go with this flow.

As you come out of this short little movement meditation,

Out of your inner or outer dance,

Feel freedom.

Freedom in your body.

Freedom in your heart.

Freedom in your soul.
