This exercise is designed to heal the negative feelings you have about another person. It does not matter if the person is alive or dead of if your personally know the person or not. At the end of the exercise you should feel peace and understanding when you think of the person. So if you'd like to relax and close your eyes and take a few deep breaths and then take one big deep breath and tense all the muscles in the body make fists of the hands and relax.

Now you may know someone that you want to forgive immediately.

Nobody comes,

You can choose someone you don't like alive or dead and to make it real you could bring back a situation perhaps recent or further back where you lost your peace with this person.

As you make it real you'll begin to feel it somewhere in the body,

Some tension,

Some disturbance,

Maybe even a physical pain or if you've chosen yourself you might see yourself in that disturbed rather unpleasant state looking upon yourself and how upset you felt as you couldn't forgive yourself.

As it becomes more real you'll feel it stronger in the body and you can put an accepting hand there if it's convenient.

I accept you,

I welcome you,

I allow you to be there and I feel you.

You don't have to change,

I accept you,

You're my teacher and we can forget the other person now.

They're only reminding you of something unhealed in you and you can feel it now.

I welcome you,

I allow you,

I feel you and you can feel how big it is.

Look how big it is.

Where does it start and stop?

What shape is it?

How deep does it go into the body?

Does it have a colour?

And the texture?

Does it feel hard or soft or something else?

Ask it how it's feeling.

Imagine it's like a little child,

A stressed child inside you.

You've found this child,

You accept it,

You ask it how you feel it,

Just listen to it,

Let it speak to you and let it know you accept whatever it says.

After all this is just a shadow over your Christ nature,

Your beautiful perfect nature.

This cloud,

This shadow has appeared and it cannot damage the Christ.

Let it come block it like a cloud in front of the sun.

There is no sin here,

Just an error,

A mistake.

Hold the child's hand as you listen or pick it up and put it against your heart as you keep listening to its pain,

Its anger,

Its sadness.

You say that's all right and it's all right to feel that.

And now the person that you've been upset with appears in front of you and the child can see that person but now that person turns into a child.

And perhaps for the first time you see its pain,

Why it acts like it does,

Says what it does.

It's also an upset child.

See if you can hear what it has to say about its upset.

There's now two children in pain.

Put your child down and let it go over to the other child.

Let them be together,

They understand each other's pain now.

Perhaps they can embrace,

Perhaps they can listen to each other.

Perhaps if one was crying the other one can dry the tears.

Let them say to each other you are my teacher,

Thank you.

You are showing me unhealed things in myself.

And now just let them be together.

Maybe they part,

Maybe they play,

Maybe there's a hug,

Maybe they smile,

Knowing now what it's all about.

Now look into yourself,

How do you feel?

Are you more at peace?

If you are,

Then forgiveness has happened.

Thank both children and when you're ready,

In your own time,

Bring yourself back to the room.
