In order to reduce stress and prevent stress,
There are things you really want to know about how you function.
Especially in this area.
So,
I'm a cognitive psychotherapist.
And cognitive,
I don't know if you know the meaning of the word.
Comes from Cognito.
And sometimes it can be easier to understand if we use the opposite.
Incognito.
So sometimes in thrillers,
You see people that are disguised like secret agents with trench coats and hats.
They're incognito.
They don't want to be recognized.
Cognito is to recognize.
It's to see and understand and bring forward.
So that you understand what is going on inside of you.
And that's what working cognitively is about.
You have between 60 and 70,
000 thoughts.
Every day.
And most of them will be the same thoughts that you had yesterday.
So becoming aware of what is going on in this area will help you tremendously.
In lowering your cortisol stress hormone level.
And in living a more fulfilled and rich life.
So you can change your thoughts,
But sometimes it's easier to start changing your behavior.
Because your thoughts affect.
Everything.
An example.
You might have.
.
.
Coworker that you relate to.
In a not so pleasant way as some of your other co-workers.
We all have different things we react to.
So your thoughts about this co-worker will actually.
.
.
Also determine how you interact when you are physically near your co-worker.
And it can be difficult to start changing the way you think about this person.
But if you start changing a bit in your behavior.
Maybe just being a bit more aware of paying attention or responding.
Offering a smile now and then,
Then you will see that your behavior will also change something most likely in the other person's behavior towards you.
That might make you feel more comfortable around this person.
And that will change the way you think about this person.
So it can be easier to change.
A small thing in your behavior.
Than altering your thoughts completely.
An example.
Of this,
And I love this movie.
Maybe you've seen it,
Groundhog Day.
The one where there's a news reporter and he's very negative.
And he wakes up to the same day again and again and again.
Until he starts changing.
His behavior and the way he thinks about people and relates to the situations.
And then he gets out of this loop.
So you can actually do some of the same so Start changing one small behavior.
Maybe it's not a co-worker for you.
Maybe it's a family member.
Or someone in your network.
Someone in your apartment building could be anywhere.
So if you start changing a bit in your behavior,
Then you might.
Most likely start thinking differently about that person.
I hope this.
.
.
Was of help for you.
I'll see you in another video.
