Welcome to The Nose Knows. When your head’s all over the place, it’s easy to forget the simplest tools right in front of you. Or just above your mouth, to be exact: Your nose knows what to do. It can steady your mind, clear your head, and let oxygen travel deep, bringing ease to your whole system. Very useful during boring meetings. Music by DanaMusic.

This is a little breathing exercise called the nose-nose,

Because your nose knows what to do here.

This method helps you calm your nervous system,

It improves your oxygen intake,

It slows down your breath so it reaches even deeper in your body,

And it also helps you quiet that constant stream of thoughts.

So start by visualizing breathing in through your left nostril and out through your right nostril,

In through your right nostril,

And out through your left,

In through your left nostril,

And out through your right,

In through your right nostril,

And out through your left,

And continue now at your own pace.

So this is very effective,

For instance,

If you're stuck in meetings that are a bit boring,

Or if you're stuck in traffic,

Or if you're waiting in line for something,

Or in whatever situation where you feel like you might be wasting time,

Or simply feel disconnected from your breath.

Well,

You won't be if you're doing this,

And it is time well spent.

It's also very effective if you have that feeling sometimes that you can't breathe properly,

Maybe you can't get past that spot in your throat.

Well,

With this method,

You can bypass that feeling because the breath finds a new pathway,

One that brings both calm and ease and more connection inside.

So,

In through your left nostril,

Out through your right,

In through your right nostril,

And out through your left,

In through your left,

In through your right,

And continue now at your own pace.
