Hello and welcome.

This meditation is designed for people who are trying to get in touch with what their body is trying to tell them.

When you're ready,

Take a comfortable seat or lie down.

Begin to slow down your breathing with a long inhale and exhale.

And I invite you to close your eyes and go inward.

It may help to place hands on your heart or on your belly.

Getting in touch with your body.

Notice any feelings.

Notice any places that are calling your attention to them.

Perhaps there's a slight twinge or heaviness in some part of your body.

Notice that and direct your attention there.

Deepening your breathing.

Being here now with your body,

Not elsewhere in your mind.

Your attention is now drawn to the place that your body needs you to notice.

And that noticing may begin to bring some things up for you and that's exactly what you're listening for.

It might bring some feelings or images.

You might just sense that it feels like jello or thick air that you can't breathe.

You might be reminded of a time in your past from childhood or in your formative years.

All of these things are welcome and all of these things are the work that we're doing here together.

This is your work for right now.

You don't have to be anywhere.

You don't have to try hard to come up with a narrative.

Your body will tell you.

Your body wants to tell you.

Allow it to tell you a story.

That story may be of pictures.

That story may be of sensations or flashbacks or any number of things.

That story may be on a specific side.

Generally,

The left hemisphere of the brain,

Which is the more analytical,

Connects with the right side of the body,

Which is considered to be the more masculine side.

And likewise,

The right hemisphere of the brain links to the left side of your body.

The right hemisphere of the brain is the creativity and the left side of your body is considered more feminine.

Notice that I have struggled with injuries on my right side for several years and my body told me there is significance in that.

That is my more masculine side and I have been working from a masculine place and not dipping into my femininity.

There's no judgment.

It just is.

There's no bad or good.

It just is.

It's information.

It allows you to understand and to see clearer the picture that your body is giving you.

It may not have to do with masculine or feminine.

It may have to do with stored trauma.

Our bodies,

When we don't discharge the energy of a traumatic occurrence and trauma doesn't have to be a big huge thing that's dramatic.

It can be anything that we perceive as something harmful or hurting.

Getting curious,

Asking,

What age is this?

Perhaps you have some stored trauma deep in your belly or in your hips that says it's five.

Whatever number that comes up,

Trust it.

It's your body telling you a story.

Perhaps something happened when you were five.

Again,

It didn't have to be dramatic but if it was a trauma and as a child you didn't know how to discharge that energy,

It had to go somewhere in the body.

Notice that.

There's nothing that you have to do simply by bringing awareness to what our body is telling us.

It brings the focus and allows for wholeness,

Allows for healing.

So take a moment and if you haven't heard any of this clearly yet,

Give your body the opportunity to speak.

As your awareness comes to this,

My invitation is to thank your body.

Thank your beautiful body for giving you the information that you needed.

If you can envision a beautiful ball of light,

A beautiful ball of light,

A beautiful ball of light enveloping the area that your attention has been on,

See the light covering any pain or weird sensation and allow it to cleanse it and then invite that white light back into your heart.

The heart is the beautiful purifier of all things.

Take it and purify and when you're ready,

Begin to wiggle a little bit,

Coming back to your senses,

Placing both hands over your heart,

Bowing to yourself and the wisdom of your body.

We end the practice.

Namaste.
