Find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
Just make any adjustments that will make you feel comfortable,
Safe.
If you're sitting,
Allow your spine to lengthen naturally and your shoulders soften.
And if you're lying down,
Just feel the earth beneath you,
Fully holding and supporting your body.
Now gently close your eyes,
If it feels safe to do so,
And take a deep breath in through your nose,
And exhale slowly through your mouth,
Making the exhale longer than the inhale.
Let's do that again,
Inhale deeply,
Filling your belly,
And exhale,
Allowing your body to settle.
One more time,
Inhale,
And exhale slowly,
And making it longer.
Now simply notice your body.
There's no need to change anything,
To analyze it or judge it,
Just observe it.
Do you feel any warmth,
Coolness?
Do you feel any tingling or spaciousness?
Is there any tightness,
Pulsing or heaviness?
Do some areas feel more open,
While others feel more dense or activated?
Just remember there's no right or wrong answer to this,
We're just gathering information about what is present in this moment.
Now I want you to bring your awareness to your feet,
If they're touching the ground,
Maybe notice the texture beneath them,
The pressure,
The contact.
If your feet are resting,
You can imagine roots,
Gently extending from the soles,
Reaching deep into the earth.
With each inhale,
Notice any shifts,
Do you feel warmer?
Do you sense any movement or buzzing?
And with each exhale,
Feel your body settling into the earth,
Steady support.
So with each inhale,
Notice any shifts with compassion and openness,
And with each exhale,
Just feel your body settling into that support.
Now bring your awareness to your seat or your back,
Wherever your body is resting,
And again we're going to explore with an open mind.
You can sense if there is a heaviness,
Or if you feel like you're being held,
Or maybe you feel lightness or a sense of expansion,
Or maybe you notice a pulsing,
A slight vibration,
Or just stillness.
Whatever you feel is right,
It's okay,
Just allow it to be.
Through noticing our body and through becoming aware of our sensations,
We are reconnecting back with the body.
Because of trauma and chronic stress,
We disconnect from our bodies and our surroundings,
So it's very important to rewire those connections and come back to the here and the now.
And this reconnection,
This body awareness,
This grounding is great support after receiving energy healing or reiki,
Just grounding that energy and allowing it to even work better because you're doing something intentional.
Now I would like you to shift your attention to your hands.
You could even look at them,
Open your eyes and explore them,
Even if it feels weird at first,
But just observing and feeling,
And just ask yourself,
What do I notice here?
Do I feel warm?
Is there a tingling in my fingers?
Are my hands feeling open and soft,
Or do they feel more tense and like holding?
And again,
There's no need to change anything,
Just observe.
Now you can let your awareness travel up your arms,
And you could even again look at them and explore them,
As if it was the first time that you were exploring your body.
And look for sensations.
You can check for temperature.
You can check if there's softness or tension,
Or spaciousness or contraction.
And if at any moment your mind drifts,
That's fine.
Just simply bring your focus back to whatever you're exploring.
Now let's do a bit of energy integration after this session.
I want you to imagine a soft golden light at the crown of your head.
And this light holds all the healing energy from your Reiki session or energy healing session.
And as you inhale,
Imagine this light gently cascading down through your forehead,
Your throat,
Your heart,
All the way down to your toes.
Just keep visualizing that golden light carrying all of this healing energy from the session.
The session is still alive in your body,
Still working,
Still making shifts.
And with each breath,
Just notice what happens.
Does your body feel more open?
Does any sensation shift,
Spread,
Soften?
Maybe there's a sense of fullness or warmth.
And with each exhale,
This energy settles even deeper,
Integrating into your body.
You're intentionally and consciously integrating the session.
Take a few more breaths like this,
Allowing the energy to learn,
To settle,
To become part of you.
And when you're ready,
You can begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
If your eyes were closed,
You can open them and look at the room around you.
You can touch your hands again with your arms and just noticing the texture of your skin,
The air on your skin,
The tingling as the movement returns.
Just make sure you're coming back to the here and the now,
To the room.
And just remember you're grounded,
You're whole,
And you are supported.
