Within each of us is a steady place from which we can find what we need to move through our day.

This practice is about accessing the power and the knowledge within to help guide you throughout your day.

Find a comfortable seat and let's begin.

For a moment just take in your surroundings,

Through ears,

Through eyes,

And whole body.

Notice that even as you sit still the world around you is in constant motion.

There may be things tugging and pulling for your attention.

Just take notice but stay grounded in your body.

Notice your own breath,

Your own thoughts,

And any sensations present in your physical body.

Now let's slowly begin to narrow our area of focus.

Reclaim your attention and your awareness,

Drawing it back a little closer to the body,

Specifically to the surface of your skin.

As your awareness returns home to the physical body can you notice the touch of air against the skin?

Maybe the touch of your clothing against your skin?

And then noticing any other sensations present at the surface of your skin.

Let's move a layer deeper.

Begin to notice the sensations just beneath the surface of your skin.

Maybe there's a slight change in temperature,

A subtle vibration or pulsation as blood moves through the veins and sensation moves through the nervous system.

You may even notice a slight tingle or an itch.

Just be present with the experience and keep breathing.

Breath by breath we'll move deeper layer by layer with your awareness journeying to the center of your inner being.

When you arrive at your center you may notice a certain stillness.

Allow your attention to rest here for a moment and then from your center invite that stillness to radiate outward like a wave across the body.

Notice how the stillness starts to invite more calm and more spaciousness to mind and to body.

This place is the home of our greatest clarity,

Our greatest truth,

Our greatest power.

From this place of quiet and stillness is where we are best able to make the right decisions for ourselves,

For our families,

For our communities.

Take a moment of pause here.

Notice what arises from the stillness and the spaciousness within.

Stay anchored to this peaceful center as we slowly start to bring our attention back to the surface.

Once again breath by breath,

Layer by layer,

Start to move from the center outward.

Notice the sensations present just beneath the surface of your skin.

Notice the subtle sensations at the surface of your skin.

Let your awareness expand from the boundary of your being outward,

Gently fluttering open the eyes and with eyes,

Ears,

And whole body,

Once again take in your surroundings.

Know that access to this peace within is available to you at any given moment,

At any time.

I hope you revisit this practice often.

Take care as you ease back into your day and I look forward to practicing with you again soon.
