
The River for Release & Creative Inspiration
This meditation will guide you through releasing any mental clutter, constrictive emotions, and other heavy energies in order to clear blocks from accessing your own intuition and creativity. This meditation was written in part to support an Intuitive Art Process tool. It can be listened to and enjoyed with or without the tool. Thank you for being.
Transcript
Begin by taking a deep breath.
And when you're ready,
Close your eyes.
In this moment,
Simply enjoy sitting still.
Doing nothing but breathing deeply.
Breathing deeply however that feels comfortable for you.
And simply allow yourself to fall into a comfortable rhythm with your breath.
Now that you're breathing more deeply and breathing into a rhythm that feels good to you,
Imagine any thoughts that come up,
Any task that need done,
Any constrictive emotions that you're feeling.
Imagine all of these thoughts as a river rushing in front of you.
You remain still even as the river rushes by in front of you.
Anchor yourself in this stillness through your breath.
And become simply the observer of the turbulent waters ahead.
As you watch that river rushing in front of you,
Take a moment to notice the movement of the water more closely.
You can observe this more keenly without getting in.
You are anchored in stillness through your breath.
You are simply an observer of the swirling river of thoughts and emotions.
When these new thoughts and emotions arise in you,
Simply place those into the swiftly moving waters.
Notice how they add to the quality of the water.
Notice how they change the unsettled river before you.
Anything else that comes up,
Anything that's bothering you,
Any thoughts that you're having,
Emotions all become part of that rushing river.
As you continue to breathe in a rhythm that is comfortable for you,
Continue to gather up any thoughts that feel heavy to you.
Anything that takes you outside of this moment of stillness and breath.
Notice these by placing them into those moving waters.
Anything that is no longer serving your greater good,
Anything that you're carrying that was never meant for you to carry.
This is your invitation to release and let go of all of them by simply placing it into these waters before you.
With everything that was weighing you down and everything that was feeling heavy to you and everything that was not meant to be carried with you,
It is now placed in the river.
Notice how much lighter you feel as you stand solidly on the shoreline in deep,
Deep peace and rhythmic breath.
Notice how much easier it is to breathe.
Notice how you're able to fill your lungs with ease.
And continue to bring your awareness to your breath.
Now focusing fully on your breath.
The inhale and the exhale.
Rest in that rhythm.
The rushing river before you is strong and you are stronger.
You possess in this moment great,
Great strength in your stillness.
You are able to calm these waters through your intention,
Through your breath.
Breathe in deeply this calm that is yours.
Breathe in deeply this calm strength that is yours.
With each in breath,
Feel the calm and steady strength fill your entire being.
As you exhale,
Breathe this calm strength into the waters before you.
Again,
Deeply inhale the peaceful strength that is available to you now and always.
Fill your entire being with this calm and steady strength.
And again,
Exhale this peacefulness into the waters before you.
Notice with each inhale how you're able to calm and steady your physical body.
Notice with each exhale into the river how you're able to settle the flow of those waters.
And notice how calm the waters are becoming.
Continue to breathe in deeply,
Filling up your body with this calm strength.
Notice with each exhale how you're able to calm the waters of this once turbulent river.
You can see it slowing and calming before you.
From one bank to the other.
And as far as the eye can see,
You are calming the river.
The river has grown calmer and calmer until it is now a beautiful,
Quiet,
Gently flowing stream.
This gentle stream is an outward reflection of your inner being.
Its waters,
Once chaotic and turbulent,
Are now flowing with great strength and calm and ease.
The stream now flows with purpose and direction and also with ease and flow.
You notice just how perfectly this stream is reflecting your inner state of being.
You also feel this sense of great purpose.
And you feel the ease and flow of being in perfect alignment with this great purpose.
The river is a mirror of your being.
Your being is a mirror of the river.
It becomes hard to distinguish your inner being from the stream in front of you.
Your energetic qualities match beautifully.
You feel drawn toward the stream as if it is calling to you.
Drawing you nearer.
You begin to take a step toward the stream in front of you.
Your movement is fluid,
Effortless.
Your body moves toward the stream as if it is floating through the air and yet you fully feel the earth beneath your feet.
You continue to step effortlessly toward the stream until you arrive at the edge of where the waters meet the earth.
As you arrive here at the banks of the stream,
You continue on and you step into those calm waters.
The bed of the river is covered in smooth pebbles.
It delights your feet to press into the river bed.
The water flows gently over your feet and around your ankles.
It is the perfect temperature.
It feels so comfortable.
It feels so comforting.
You continue to walk deeper into the river as the waters rise up gently around your calves,
Swirling around your knees.
You step more deeply into the river.
The warm,
Inviting waters rise up your legs,
Enveloping your thighs,
Gently swirling around your waist and your belly.
You feel no separation between your body and the water.
It is so warm and so gentle.
You lift your eyes up toward the sky and see that it is filled with a crystal white light.
As your eyes focus on this beautiful white light,
You feel your feet begin to rise and you begin to float gently on your back in the river.
As you float,
You are able to fully embody the absolute stillness,
Serenity,
Peace,
And calm.
It is hard to tell if you are floating in the river or if the river is floating in you.
There is no separation.
You are the river that is inside of you.
You understand this completely as you physically become the river.
Gently and peacefully melting,
Dissolving into oneness with the peace and the calm and the serenity of the stillness that you yourself created around and within you.
You are the river that is inside of you.
Repeat these affirmations after me.
I am open to receiving messages from my inner wisdom.

Beautifully combined guided meditation and soundscape. I would have preferred a formal ending although not having one did give did the opportunity to sit for as long as I wished. Thank you for creating this lovely meditation :)

A beautiful meditation just could have ended with something rather than abruptly ending with what felt like you had just cut off halfway through.
