Hello and welcome to your meditation today.

Today we're going to explore the four elements and investigate how these elements feel inside of your body.

Try to bring forward an open mind and just see what you can learn about yourself in this process.

Mindfulness is seeing clearly and looking at things from a new perspective can often bring some clarity to your mind.

Beginning just settling into a relaxed position.

If you would like you could close your eyes and just bring your awareness to the places in your body where you can experience contact such as your feet on the floor or perhaps resting your hands in your lap.

The feeling of your body sitting in a chair or lying on a flat surface.

Perhaps you're sitting cross-legged you can feel your sit bones and your thighs.

We'll begin with the element of earth,

Solid form.

Without overthinking about what this means too much just open your mind to explore where and how you can feel the solid form inside of your body.

This might be the structure and the density of your bones.

You might feel where there is a mass of tension or stress in your body.

Perhaps you can feel the weight of your muscles as you relax.

Don't rush the sensations or try to force them.

Simply just noticing what you notice.

Notice where and how the earth supports you as you relax.

The element of earth can help ground you when you are feeling anxious or scattered.

When you begin to feel that element of earth inside of your body you can just rest here.

Moving on to the element of air or wind.

The most obvious way to feel air in your body is through your breath.

Begin to connect with how your body breathes.

Where can you feel the air of the breath?

Do you feel the expansion and the contraction that the element of air offers to your body?

Can you explore your body for places where you can feel empty space like the nostrils,

The mouth,

The ears?

That can help you to explore the element of air within your body.

If you are feeling stuck or stubborn the element of air can help loosen things up.

When you can begin to feel the element of air inside of your body just rest here.

Shifting your awareness now to the element of water.

Tune in to any sense of liquidity that you can feel.

You might notice the moisture in your eyes,

Saliva in your mouth.

Maybe you can feel sweat on your body.

Perhaps you are able to feel the fluid that flows from your heart,

The pulsing of your blood running through your body.

And you can use the element of water when you are holding on or when you feel stagnation in your life to invite in flow and the feeling of letting go.

When you can begin to feel that element of water in your body just rest here.

Next bring your attention to the heat or the fire in your body.

This element is open to interpretation so look to yourself to see what you can notice.

Perhaps it's the temperature of the air touching your skin or you may notice certain parts of your body feel warmer or cooler than others.

Watch and feel for any experience of temperature either externally or internally.

If you have experienced any situations where you feel powerless try connecting to the fire inside of you.

When you can begin to feel the element of fire in your body just rest here.

Allow your awareness to shift over your whole body and spend a moment or two as you breathe calmly to feel the four elements working together to support and fuel your body.

We are earth.

We are water.

We are air.

We are fire.

All four elements are always present in our body and in the world at large.

Give yourself the freedom to explore different ways of identifying,

Experiencing and honoring these four elements inside of your body and in your life.

You can slowly bring your awareness back to the space around you gently opening your eyes taking in what you can see,

Feel and hear.

Thank you for taking the time to meditate with me today.

I hope you have a wonderful day.

I really enjoyed this meditation Melissa and I definitely believe I will revisit it during the course of the day. I think while all 4 elements are essential I find focusing on the earth element will be beneficial for re-grounding😁😁😁Thank you again
