Hello and welcome to this meditation.
A meditation for letting go and accepting change.
If you're ready to begin,
Find a comfortable position.
This could be either seated or lying down.
A position that lets your body be supported,
As if the earth itself is holding you right here.
Let your hands rest gently.
If it feels good,
You could turn them open like they were leaves that were turned towards light.
If you feel safe,
You can close your eyes or maybe just drop your gaze low.
Begin by taking a slow breath in.
And then release it fully.
Arrive here in this quiet moment exactly as you are.
There's nothing to prove.
Nothing to force here.
Nothing to become before you because you here are worthy of peace.
Like a tree that's been rooted in the soil,
You are invited to rest here.
To be held by the ground beneath you.
And the steady rhythm of the life that is all around you.
As you breathe in,
Imagine there's a fresh air moving through you like a soft forest breeze.
And as you breathe out,
You let that breath carry away what has felt heavy,
Uncertain,
Or unfinished.
Breathe in to receive.
And breathe out to release.
Change is inevitable.
It is woven through the natural world everywhere we look.
Leaves fall when their season is complete.
Rivers can shift their course.
Seeds break open in the dark before they rise towards the sun and grow.
Some changes arrive gently,
Like dawn as the sun rises above the horizon.
And others arrive suddenly like a storm brewing in the distance.
And yet,
Even then,
Life continues to move.
Life continues to adapt and be renewed.
Maybe you can bring to mind something that you are ready to return to the earth.
A worry?
And expectation.
Plan that has changed or a story about how life was supposed to be.
Or maybe it's a version of yourself that no longer fits here.
You don't need to push it all away.
Simply hold it.
In awareness with compassion.
As gently as you would hold a fallen leaf.
If you can take this worry,
This thing that you're ready to return to the earth and silently or softly out loud say,
I have carried this for as long as I have been able to.
I honor what it has taught me.
And I release what is no longer mine to hold.
I return it to the earth where all things can be transformed.
Breathe here.
Let those words settle like rain into the soil.
Imagine that with every exhale,
The weight loosens from your body.
It may not leave all at once.
Sometimes letting go can be a slow season.
A patient turning.
But a quiet trust in is what is changing beneath the surface.
If you'd like,
You could place a hand over your heart.
Or just simply bring your awareness there.
As you feel the steady presence within you.
The place where breath.
Earth,
Courage and tenderness meet.
Offer yourself these words.
May I be rooted in the midst of all this change.
May I trust the seasons of my life.
May I release what no longer nourishes my spirit.
May I bend without breaking.
May I welcome what is ready to bloom.
Feel the truth here that you are allowed to move forward slowly.
You are allowed to grieve what has changed.
Just as winter honors what has fallen.
You are allowed to feel uncertain.
And still be growing.
Acceptance does not mean giving up.
It means opening to the present moment.
Trusting that even in the bare branches of life,
Is quietly preparing to return to itself.
Take another deep breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine opening your hands.
Let the past fall gently behind you.
Let the future rise in its own season.
Let yourself return to this breath.
This body this living earth.
The sacred now.
When you are ready,
Gently notice the room around you as you open your eyes slowly.
Feel the earth supporting you.
Welcoming in a little movement by wiggling your fingers and your toes.
And carry this blessing with you,
This reminder that you can let go without losing yourself.
You can accept change while honoring all that you have been through.
Like the forest after the rain.
Like the seeds beneath the soil.
Like the dawn after a long night.
Life is still moving through you.
Guiding you to whatever it is that is ready to bloom.
So gently bring yourself back into this space.
Take a deep breath in.
Release it fully.
Have a wonderful day.
