Melanie Veyas

The Quiet Return is a contemplative studio founded by Melanie Veyas, a psychotherapist and longtime meditation teacher. It offers meditations, quiet teachings, and gentle companionship for those healing from grief, caregiving, emotional depletion, and the invisible burdens no one saw. It is also a refuge for those who feel out of step with the noise and speed of the world. For those who sense that something has changes, even if they don't have words for it. For those who are waiting, uncertain, quietly unraveling, or simply longing for a slower, truer way. At the heart of this space is an honouring of rest as a sacred act of resistance, recovery, and remembering. This work is grounded in trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and self-compassion. It invites a soft unravelling of old survival patterns, and a deep respect for the slow, nonlinear nature of healing. Through each offering, you’re invited to return to your inner rhythm, gently reconnect with what’s vulnerable, realign with what matters, and remember who you are beneath the striving. Here, we remember: healing isn’t loud and it isn’t fast. But it is possible. This is a place to return home to yourself. Gently, and in your own time.

Gentle kindness, sincerity... and an excellent reminder... I like it!🥰 I'm 63, and I've been working on my healing for so very long! It's hard for even me to imagine. I do make a point of noticing my progress. But it's hard not to still sometimes feel despairing or frustrated, because what you say is true. Healing isn't a smooth upward spiral, but often happens in fits and starts. A strong effort, a battle won, will be followed by what looks like disintegration, but what is, in fact, the opposite: exhaustion, and a time for release and re-forming, a regathering of energy. I was taught very early to be strong, and to strive for perfection... but not how to honor the process. 😘🌠

Melanie thank you so much. I'm so glad you're here! I needed this practice. I feel broken after 2 devastating losses. It's so comforting to hear that I can heal. 🩷

Just what I needed this morning. Peaceful, and a gentle reminder that it's okay to take time when healing ❤️‍🩹
