
Coming Home To Center Meditation

This meditation is about ‘Coming home to center.’ Through guidance, the listener is invited to bring awareness to the breath, body and the present moment. You will leave feeling refreshed, recharged and in your own power.

Hello everyone,
Let's take a few minutes today to come back to our center with a short mindfulness exercise Go ahead find a place to sit make yourself comfortable By coming back to Center I'm talking about Coming back home to yourself inside of yourself Unattaching from everything going on around outside of you Just so you can spend time within you with your divine and quiet and Release a lot of the things that are going on all around outside of you and just take that moment As I say come back to Center just to breathe release and relax So go on at this point Just become aware of how you're how you're setting Notice what parts of your body are making contact your feet perhaps with the ground That is supporting you You just become aware of Your seat your chair How you're being supported and held And become aware of your back if that's leaning against the back of a chair sofa If it's touching anything Notice the points that you can feel that are being supported in your back now Bring your attention Into your whole body And just review,
How are you feeling?
If your mind has thoughts running through it,
It's okay just observe Don't Engage with the thoughts just give them a nod and release them If you want as things come up you can give them a nod and then put them on a Plate that Or a basket that is right next to you and just let them know you'll come back to them when you're done with this brief meditation But for now this time is for you this time is for coming back to your Center coming within Sort of like finding your still point and then your recharging station So I invite you now to take a large breath in through your nose And down through your nose and just become aware of the breath As you take each breath I invite you to As you take each breath I invite you to bring in the air and Bring it in deeper more toward The gut below the belly and notice the expansion around the rib cage And at this moment there's no particular timing just bring in a deep breath and release it And at this moment there's no particular timing just bring in a deep breath and release it Notice how the rib cage is expanding that the belly is expanding Imagine that as you're bringing that air in You're bringing it in really deep and filling up Your insides kind of like giving oxygen to your cells And as you're releasing Think about it as also releasing that which is stale and stagnant within you And observe what's happening to your breath You may have noticed that it's slowing down You may have noticed that it's getting deeper And you may have noticed that the thoughts that are popping into your head are a bit fewer Whatever it is you observe it's alright because it just is As you continue with your breath I Invite you to continue to observe whatever's going on in your body And don't wait anything Meaning don't give it a good bad Don't attach anything to it just observe And allow that anything comes up just allow it to be there give it a nod and just release it Now invite you to bring your attention to your head and just feel Can you notice anything on your skin Feel the temperature of the air perhaps on your face Become aware of your forehead and the muscles in your cheeks and your forehead And become aware of your neck How does that feel?
And as we bring our awareness down to our shoulders invite you to roll them back Opening up that chest plate the heart chakra just allowing it to be more open I invite you to just be present with your body See how those shoulder blades feel rolled back Notice again the points of your back and your head and how they're being supported what they might be touching Notice where the breath is going as it enters And become aware of how it releases Bring your attention to the support around you and underneath your legs and your sits bones You are here you're present and you are being supported Take notice of feeling any fabric,
Any clothing,
Anything on your skin What do you feel?
Where does it bring your awareness?
Now can you feel the air temperature anywhere on that open skin?
I invite you now to bring your attention to the sounds around you There might be primary sounds that are close by Are there any layers of sounds?
Is there anything that sounds further away?
Just observe what you hear Now I invite you back to your body to feel your legs Bring your attention to your knees and to your calves and to your ankles Bring your attention to your feet For most of you they may be planted on the ground Wherever they are just notice how they feel Is there pressure?
And if they're connected with the ground bring your attention there And bring the awareness that we are like beings with energy And that energy is tracking deep into the earth And I'm aware of that in the grounding,
The strength and the support The steadiness that you are anchored onto this earth,
This great Mother Earth,
Gaia And feel that energy coming back up into your feet,
Into your ankles,
Up through your legs And all the cells Into the knees and up through your thighs and the quads,
Behind the back And into your body and your trunk And feel that energy,
That light coming into your body Up through your chest plate And into the shoulders and coming and extending through all of the cells in your arms And come back to that core And roll your shoulders back once again,
Continuing to open that chest plate And become aware of the energy coming up through your neck,
Through your head And upward out I invite you to bring your awareness right into you And what's going on outside,
It doesn't matter at this very moment Your busy days,
They don't matter at this moment You can just set them on the tray and you'll go back to them But I invite you to right now come right into your body Right into that center,
Right into that heart chakra Right into this beautiful physical being that you are I invite you to allow a light smile to come across your face And feeling yourself really rooted into your body I invite you into that heart chakra And just be aware of a light And if you don't see it,
Almost figuratively reach in and just turn on that light And turn that flame up,
Allowing it to burn a little bit brighter And realize that this is your light and that you are here And you've been invited to come and occupy this physical being completely and wholly And turn it on and turn it up And just feel your own presence within yourself Feel the divine that is within you Whether that divine is a higher power or whether that divine is your higher being Become aware of that residing all within you And if there are other parts of you that feel scattered or out Literally you can reach your arms out and gently corral them back in and bring them home,
All the parts of you Because right now you're coming home,
Your charging station,
Your center,
Your heart The very place of being present Nothing else matters And at this point before we wrap up,
I invite you to just become aware of gratitude For this moment,
For this place,
For this being right back home in your center And for this time that you have chosen to give yourself To come back to whole,
To recharge,
To replenish And I invite you just to be here and go back to becoming aware of the breath you're breathing in through your nose and out And when you're ready to just open your eyes and relax and come back to the day Thank you
