In meditation, we may begin to observe the thoughts: our expectations, beliefs & "shoulds" run wild! Without awareness, they catch us & create suffering. Affirmations can be beautiful way to shift our attention & energy. Where we often need this most is drawing our mind's attention back to the present moment. Use this meditation to: -begin the morning a clear intention -remain focused during moments of chaos -listen & journal afterward on a moment of true presence. •Music by ANBR•

An affirmation offering.

I let go of how things should be and embrace the moment before me.

How often do we allow our attachment to our own ideas and expectations to be the very thing keeping us from experiencing this moment?

So often it is our own thoughts,

Beliefs,

And the emotions we attach to our thoughts which creates so much discomfort and suffering.

Today,

Take some time to watch your thoughts.

What's catching you when you find yourself in anger,

Frustration,

Impatience?

Label it,

Name it as best you can.

Take time,

Time away from the charged scenarios that keep playing out in your life or in your mind.

What can that moment teach you?

What thoughts are behind those feelings?

What actions did you take or not take?

And did you try to escape?

And aren't you tired of escaping?
