Welcome to Making Meditation Mainstream,

10-Minute Meditations.

My name is Carrie.

The theme for today is Acceptance.

When we allow whatever is happening in the moment,

Without trying to change it,

We begin to accept what we are expecting.

Without trying to change it,

We begin to accept what we are experiencing.

We allow what is happening,

And we are accepting of each moment as it comes.

Simply allow sensations to be here.

Allow thoughts or distractions to be here.

Allow feelings to be here.

Allow the experience just as it is.

Release the wish for any discomfort to disappear or go away.

And simply accept it for what it is.

When we acknowledge and recognize whatever it is that we are experiencing,

Then we can accept it for what it is and see it as a gift.

Now get yourself settled as we begin the meditation sequence.

Taking a moment now to just settle and relax.

Close your eyes.

Together,

Let's take three breaths.

On each exhale,

Allow yourself to relax more and more.

Bring yourself into the present moment.

Allow the past to be the past and the future to be the future.

You are safe in this moment right now.

Place your attention on the top of your head.

And allow a deep sense of relaxation to cascade slowly down your face.

Feel your eyes become heavy.

Relax your jaw.

Soften your mouth and allow your tongue to sit comfortably in your mouth.

Allow your shoulders to drop away from your ears.

Completely relaxing your arms.

Release your stomach.

And feel your legs and feet become completely relaxed.

Now place your focus and awareness upon your breath,

Watching the inhale and the exhale of the breath.

Witnessing the rise and the fall of the chest.

Should you have thoughts or distractions,

Just acknowledge them.

Allow them to drift slowly away and calmly return your attention back to the rise and the fall of your breath.

Relax your eyes.

And allow your eyes to be the past and the future to be the future.
