This guided meditation invites you to explore the true nature of thoughts as they arise in your mind. Instead of focusing on their content, you'll be encouraged to observe thoughts as transient moments of knowing. Through awareness, you'll uncover the space from which they dissolve, helping you connect with the deeper stillness that exists beyond the activity of the mind.

Welcome to this guided meditation.

In today's practice,

We will inquire into the nature of thoughts.

What are thoughts?

Where do they come from?

What are they made of?

Are thoughts even a thing?

This meditation is an invitation for you to become curious about your own mind and the thoughts that arise within it.

Let's begin.

Take a moment and settle into a comfortable position.

You can close your eyes,

Soften your shoulders,

And allow your breath to flow naturally.

Let your body relax and feel the ground beneath you supporting your entire being.

As we begin,

Bring your attention to the simple act of being here now.

There's nothing to change,

Nothing to achieve.

Just allow yourself to be fully present in this moment.

Now,

Bring your awareness to the space of your mind,

The place where thoughts arise.

Don't try to control or push away your thoughts.

Simply notice them,

Like clouds passing through the sky.

Notice that each thought is not an object you can touch or hold.

Instead,

It is simply known to you.

As a thought appears,

Recognize it for what it is,

A form of knowing.

Just as you are aware of the sensations in your body or the sounds around you,

You are also aware of the thoughts in your mind.

Now ask yourself,

What is the nature of these thoughts?

Are they solid,

Like objects out in the world?

Or are they more like fleeting moments of awareness?

Observe the space from which each thought arises and into which it dissolves.

Notice how,

At their core,

Thoughts are simply known by you.

Recognize that the act of thinking and the knowing of thoughts are one and the same thing.

Each thought appears in the vast space of your awareness.

It's noticed,

And then it fades away.

This is natural,

And there's nothing you need to do to make it happen.

Take a few moments now to rest in this place of knowing.

Such as thoughts arise and pass,

But don't hold on to any of them.

Allow them to move freely like the wind passing through the trees.

What remains,

Even when no thoughts are present,

Is the still,

Clear awareness that knows them.

Notice that this knowing is always present,

Even when your thoughts change,

Even when they disappear.

You,

The one who knows,

You are always here.

This inquiry into the nature of thoughts reveals that all mental activities,

Whether thinking,

Feeling,

Or perceiving,

All are experiences of knowing that shape our perception of reality.

By recognizing and understanding this,

We can develop a more detached and insightful approach to our thoughts and our understanding of reality.

Now,

Before we end this guided meditation,

Take a moment to appreciate the simplicity of your own awareness.

Whether thoughts arise or not,

You remain as the space in which all experience,

Thoughts,

Sensations,

Perceptions,

Takes place.

There is nothing to fix or control.

You are already whole,

Already at peace,

Simply by being aware.

When you're ready,

Gently bring your awareness back to your breath,

Feeling the air entering and leaving your body.

In your own time,

Allow your eyes to open and return to the room.

Thank you for joining me on this guided meditation into the nature of thoughts.

I hope that you enjoyed it,

And I hope that the discovery,

The realization that thoughts are nothing but knowing,

Nothing but awareness.

I hope that realization piques your curiosity to explore more,

To perhaps go deeper.

Maybe you could compare what you've discovered about thoughts and what they're made of.

You could compare that knowledge with other areas of your consciousness.

It could be your visual perception,

It could be sound,

It could be touch,

Feelings,

Emotions.

You could investigate into the nature of your own reality.

I'll continue to create more guided meditations on the subject of non-duality in the hopes that you may gain some insight and gain some inspiration,

At the very least,

To continue your own exploration and your own journey towards knowledge and towards the Self.

Thank you.
