Welcome to this meditation on feeling the dimensions of your breath.
We'll start just by feeling the air flowing in through your nostrils.
Feel the air pour down over the soft palate at the back of your mouth.
Feel the air slide down your throat,
Down your trachea,
The tube that connects your throat to your lungs.
Feel your breath flow into your lungs as they expand and draw air in.
Feel the breath flow out as your lungs squeeze and compress and the air flows back up through your trachea,
Back up through your throat and out your nose.
Feel the air flow out as your lungs squeeze and compress and the air flows back up through your throat.
Feel the air flow out as your lungs squeeze and compress and the air flows back up through your throat.
Feel the air flow out as your lungs squeeze and compress and the air flows back up through your throat.
Feel the air flow out as your lungs squeeze and compress and the air flows back up through your throat.
Continue to feel the air flowing in and out.
If you can,
Allow your breath to deepen just a bit,
Allow your exhale to lengthen just a bit.
When you inhale and your lungs expand,
Your breathing diaphragm that supports your lungs,
That holds your lungs from beneath,
It drops down and widens.
It's a big net of muscle that's tethered to the front of your spine.
Feel the breathing diaphragm softly expanding,
Gently expanding,
Release any tension that you might feel in your breathing diaphragm.
As your breathing diaphragm descends,
Allow the breath,
The sensation of breath,
To flow all the way down into your deep back belly.
Let your belly organs soften,
Let your belly muscles soften,
Let there be space down in your belly,
In your back belly,
Along the front of your spine for the feeling of breath.
Let your belly muscles soften,
Let there be space down in your back belly,
Along the front of your spine for the feeling of breath.
Let your belly muscles soften,
Let there be space down in your back belly,
Along the front of your spine for the feeling of breath.
Let your belly muscles soften,
Let there be space down in your back belly,
Along the front of your spine for the feeling of breath.
Let your belly muscles soften,
Let there be space down in your back belly,
Along the front of your spine for the feeling of breath.
Feel the breath as it flows into your heart,
Your lungs as they expand,
Press against your heart,
Cradle your heart on the inhale.
As you exhale and your breathing diaphragm domes up,
It comes up and cradles your heart from below.
And your heart pulses and the blood flows to the far periphery of your body and your heart pumps and draws the blood back.
The breathing process encompasses your whole circulatory system.
You feel the breath flowing in every bit of your body.
Every cell nourishes itself with oxygenated blood.
Every cell releases and lets go of what it doesn't need.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Your whole body breathes.
Your skin breathes.
Your brain breathes.
That's why you're breathing in.
You're breathing in air.
But you're also breathing in life itself.
The gift of the cosmos.
You're breathing in divine life.
You didn't earn it and you can't unearn it.
Let yourself bow and receive the bountiful gift of breath.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
Let your belly muscles soften.
