This is a simple centering meditation that will help you connect and center in an experience of your essential self. You'll connect to the self that exists beyond thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and preferences, and use the breath to bring that experience into your body.

Welcome to this centering meditation.

I invite you to begin by closing your eyes,

If that's comfortable,

Or lowering your gaze,

And resting in whatever comfortable position you find.

Begin by just resting your awareness on your breath,

The inhale and exhale.

And if you like,

You can take a few deeper breaths,

Feeling your ribs expand,

Feeling your breathing diaphragm soften and drop down.

And as you exhale,

Really release all the air in your lungs.

And then just return to regular breathing,

Uninhibited in any way.

And just feel yourself here,

In this moment,

Breathing.

You may have thoughts moving through your mind,

You may have different sensations in your body,

You may have emotions coursing through you,

And all that is real,

But it's not you.

All that is valid and valuable,

But it's not who you are.

You're watching those things,

You're noticing those things.

And if you like,

You can repeat to yourself a simple mantra,

I am here.

I am here.

I am breathing.

I exist.

I am here.

I am here.

I am here.

I am here.

I am here.

Your existence is not an accident.

Your existence is a gift,

A miracle.

I am here.

I am breathing.

I exist.

I am here.

I am here.

I am here.

I am here.

The simple fact of your being here in a body,

Breathing,

Is a gift from the divine to the earth.

I am here.

I am here.

I am here.

In the same way that a flower blooming on a summer day is a gift,

An offering of beauty.

You are an offering of beauty.

I am here.

I am breathing.

I am.

I am here.

You are indivisible from the source of being.

Your body,

Your mind,

Your beliefs,

Your preferences are the container into which the one being pours itself.

This is intentional,

Purposeful.

The one offers itself to the earth as you on purpose with love.

I am breathing.

I exist.

I am here.

I am here.

I am here.

And as this meditation draws to a close,

Allow your eyes to open.

Look around you and maintain the rootedness in yourself.

Feel the breath moving and feel the interface of the one with this earth.

As you move throughout your day,

May this awareness go with you.
