Hello,

It's Rebecca and welcome to today's meditation.

Today I'm going to share with you my typical morning meditation.

Morning meditation allows me to begin my day with a sense of peace and calming.

It helps me to release any tensions that I may wake up within the morning and sets my day up for success.

Research has shown that daily meditation can reduce stress and anxiety,

Increase our attention,

Open our lives to be more compassionate people and actually improve our relationships.

In the fast-paced world that we live in,

Meditation allows us to slow down,

Become more present and even can help us be better listeners.

Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.

Always remember that comfort is key here.

If you need to stretch during a meditation,

Stretch.

If you have an itch,

Scratch it.

The more comfortable you are,

The more likely you are to return to meditation.

Comfort is key.

Let's take a moment to talk about thoughts.

It is completely normal to have thoughts.

It is what you do with those thoughts that is most important.

If you find yourself thinking during meditation,

Acknowledge the thought that you were thinking and then slowly drift back to your object of focus.

I usually start my morning meditation with gratitude.

Science has shown that daily gratitude practice has many benefits,

Including better physical and mental health and increased happiness and life satisfaction.

This makes the morning a great time to think about what we are grateful for.

Once you are comfortable,

Slowly close your eyes.

Take a slow deep breath in and slowly let that go.

Take another slow deep breath in and gently let that go.

Now let's ask ourselves the question,

What am I grateful for?

What am I grateful for?

Continue breathing in and out as you let the answers to the questions flow into your consciousness.

When an answer comes,

Be thankful.

Let it sit for a moment and let it go,

Allowing for a steady stream of things you are grateful for to come in and out much like the breath.

Let's take a few moments answering what am I grateful for?

Now take a deep,

Slow breath in and on the out breath,

Let go of all those things you are grateful for and come back to the breath.

Breathing in and out.

Breathing in and out.

Next we will set an intention for the day.

Take a few moments to choose an intention.

Once you have your intention,

Take it into your heart and let it flow throughout your entire being.

Let it flow from the crown of your head to the tips of your fingers and toes with every breath in and out.

Take a long deep breath in and on the out breath,

Send your intention out of you bringing your focus back to your breath,

Leaving it to the universe to decide how it will play out.

Let's take this meditation a bit deeper.

I have many different mantras I use based on how I am feeling in the morning and what I would like to manifest for my day.

Today let's use the mantra,

So Hum,

Which in Sanskrit means I am that.

This phrase reminds us to see ourselves in the infinite cosmic expression of the universe.

It is clarifying and helps your mind connect with itself and its own divine nature.

It helps you connect with your higher self and helps to raise your vibration.

First let's say together,

So Hum.

So Hum.

So Hum.

Then silently to yourself,

Repeat,

So Hum,

Over and over again.

The mantra may change,

It may get louder or softer or may completely disappear and that's okay.

Thoughts will come,

Just remember this is normal and when you notice you are no longer repeating the mantra,

Just effortlessly come back to the mantra.

I will watch the time and when you hear my voice,

Just sit quietly.

So Hum.

So Hum.

So Hum.

Let's begin.

So Hum.

Take a moment and let the stillness and silence settle in.

When you're ready,

You can open your eyes and look out into the world knowing that you are loved and supported and know that you have set your day for success.

Thank you for meditating with me.

Namaste.
