Welcome.
This is your host,
Mary Ann Pack,
Spiritual medium,
Oracle for the many,
And joy advocate.
Today's reading is entitled,
Who Owns You?
We may think that because we are making decisions,
We are sovereign beings.
We choose this or that.
We choose to go here or there.
We have relationships with whom we choose.
We work for this or that company,
Or maybe even have our own businesses and run them the way we like.
We choose to think this or that.
We own ourselves,
Right?
But are we really sovereign?
Do we really own ourselves?
We would certainly like to think we do.
I teach a lot about being sovereign,
Especially from the standpoint of having left my religion and all the dogmatic control it had over my life.
I talk about how I felt like a religious refugee when I left because I was abandoned by almost all my friends.
I was alone to figure out how to be and live my life on my own,
And how I have been transforming into becoming my own spiritual sovereign.
When we take back our power to choose what we believe on the basis of whether or not it resonates with our souls and gives us joy,
Then we are moving into our own sovereignty.
We are beginning to own our lives.
I must say that I am really feeling so much better and feel so much freer to be who I am meant to be.
I love being an uplifter,
Teacher,
And healer.
I love allowing my spirit guides,
The many,
To use me as their vessel to share their messages.
I love sharing my thoughts in my writing.
I love using my voice to share messages of love,
Joy,
And freedom.
When I read this quote,
And it got me to thinking about whether or not I really own my life,
Whether or not I'm really sovereign,
Here's the quote.
As long as you are worried about what others think of you,
You are owned by them.
Only when you require no approval from outside yourself can you own yourself.
– Neil Donald Walsh OMG,
Here's another layer that I need to peel back so that I'm truly sovereign.
I find myself caring more about what others think about me and allow their opinion to sway my actions,
Thoughts,
And how I live my life.
I'm still looking to others for validation and approval,
At-a-girl praises from my peers and even my audience.
How have you still been seeking the approval of others and giving your powerful sovereignty away?
How much of what you do,
Or even how much of what you share,
Is based on what others might think about you?
How are you,
How much are you allowing yourself to be influenced by what others think?
Do you ask others' opinion before you move forward or make a decision?
Do you second guess yourself because you're worried about what others will think about you?
If you are worried about what others think,
You are owned by them.
You are not sovereign.
Yikes,
That really hurts.
So how do we stop looking to others for their approval?
How do we regain our sovereignty and truly own our lives?
Haven't we been taught from childhood that it's proper and loving to care about what others think?
Isn't it right to care about how others feel about something?
Don't we need to care about what others think so we don't make too many waves and disrupt the peace?
If you're in business,
Do you hesitate to share a strong message because it might not land well with your customers or clients?
Do you ever bite your tongue and hold back even though you have a deep urge to speak your truth,
Fearful that it might make your clients see you as too bold,
Too brazen,
Too much?
Maybe you don't speak up because it might cause a rift in your relationships,
Or you are more concerned with their negative reaction.
You've experienced the repercussions before and it wasn't pretty.
If we don't care about what others think of us,
Aren't we just being arrogant and selfish?
There are so many facets to this subject.
We find ourselves worried about what others think of us all the time in big and small ways every day.
I love how Mr.
Walsh ties in worrying about what others think to our need for approval.
I think that's the key.
Where do we really need to look for approval?
I know you've heard me talk about this over and over,
But we truly do have all the approval and validation we need on the inside.
Our inner beings hold the only opinion that's valid and approval we need to live a dynamic life of thriving in joy.
When we look to others for their approval of us,
We will too often be disappointed.
People are just too fickle.
They're too worried about what others think about them to be worried about you too.
If we look to them for approval,
They may have just had their approval shot down by someone else and project their anger,
Frustration,
Or disappointment onto you.
Needing someone else to approve of you is a dangerous slope.
Oh,
It might end well okay.
Sometimes.
But the one time that you really need your precious approval fix from the right person and it doesn't happen,
You feel crushed.
You'll be like a junkie who needs their approval addiction satisfied and will jump through hoops to get the needed attention they require to feel good about themselves.
What if you always had the approval you needed inside you all the time?
I have great news for you and me.
Our inner beings are always and forever approving of us.
Our inner beings opinion of us is always that we are awesomeness embodied.
I have this mantra that I say every morning to kick off my day aligned with what my source thinks about me.
I'm usually sitting on the front porch in my rocker sipping coffee and staring up at the morning stars as I say,
Thank you source for holding me as your pure positive object of attention.
Then I usually start talking about all the ways that source acknowledges me as pure positive being.
I assure myself that source never takes a break or goes to lunch and leaves me in the lurch.
Even in the times that I'm not feeling good and out of alignment,
Source always holds their attention on me.
I talk about how much I appreciate that I'm always on source's mind and they never take their attention away from me.
That's some really big approval shit right there.
I always feel so loved and joyful when I remind myself that all I need is always right inside me.
I don't need anyone else to share their opinion of me.
As a matter of fact,
It's really none of my business what others think of me.
I'm not here to try to fit my life into anyone's standard of approval nor are they to scrunch their life into my approval box or twist into a pretzel of my opinion.
We have to let each other off the hook.
Whatever we're seeking from others is already inside each of us.
That's freedom.
That's joy.
And most of all,
That's love.
Unconditional love.
Unconditional love means that no condition must change for there to be love given.
If we find ourselves contorting ourselves to fit the opinions and approvals of others,
We are living conditional love.
We only love when the other has twisted into our opinion of who or what they should be.
No.
The inside us,
Our inner being is love.
We love because we are love embodied.
No outside opinion or approval is necessary.
Let's bring our sovereignty back home.
Let's authentically own who we are.
We'll possess ownership of our lives when we begin looking inward for our answers.
Ask your inner being this question as many times as you need approval throughout the day.
Inner being,
What do you know,
Think and feel about me and about this situation?
Then sit and listen.
As my mother always told me,
You have two ears and one mouth.
Listen twice as much as you talk.
So take mom's advice.
Be still and listen at least double the amount of time you speak.
Then you'll have the opportunity to hear the still small voice of your inner being's praise,
Love and approval of you.
When your inner being's opinion and approval is all you need,
Then you will own you.
