This reading is entitled,
Wear a Path in Your Mind.
If we come across beliefs that no longer serve our highest good or that do not resonate with our souls,
How do we change them?
Do we go in and dig them up and wrestle them to the ground?
Do we think long and hard about them to weed them out?
No.
There's a simpler way that is much more pleasing,
A way that actually feels good.
When we spend too much time trying to figure out what beliefs don't feel good,
We begin to not feel good just thinking about them.
We lower our vibration trying to ferret out all those pesky beliefs and wonder why we feel so bad.
Since a belief is only a thought we keep repeating to ourselves,
We can simply begin changing our thoughts.
If beliefs no longer feel good or maybe never felt good,
We may have just believed them because we were taught to believe them.
We have the power to change them without hashing them out and feeling the horrible emotional pain of them in the meantime.
Here's my story around my beliefs that I knew I needed to change to live a life of thriving and joy.
I wanted to create a new path in my mind that would lead me into unconditional love,
Joy,
Freedom.
Recently,
I saw this quote and it sparked my inspiration.
We will all need to shift some of our beliefs as we grow and evolve into the newest best version of ourselves.
Here's the quote.
As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth,
So a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind.
To make a deep physical path,
We walk again and again.
To make a deep mental path,
We must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.
Henry David Thoreau.
For myself,
I know there were so many beliefs that I was indoctrinated into,
That never felt good to me.
They were beliefs of unworthiness,
Of being innately sinful,
Of being the cause of original sin because I was a woman.
They told me that I was unworthy and needed to be saved to have any hope of eternal life.
They told me that only a male God could save me.
They told me that there was no female God who could understand what being a woman felt like,
And so much more.
When I began evaluating my beliefs,
I noticed that many of them that needed to change,
Some I had to release altogether.
Others simply needed to be tweaked so that they harmonized with my soul.
I knew that life should feel really good.
I knew that my soul,
In my soul,
That my spirituality should feel like freedom and joy,
Unlike what I had been taught.
So you may ask,
How did you change your beliefs?
I'm so happy you asked.
Again,
Since I knew that beliefs were simply thoughts I repeated to myself until they became my beliefs,
I had hope of shifting my beliefs.
I knew I was in control of my thoughts.
No one can think one thought from me.
I had allowed others to influence my thoughts,
And that's how I got started with beliefs that I was currently wanting to shift.
It was time to empower my own sovereignty.
So I started repeating thoughts that felt better,
No even wonderful.
Over and over,
I would repeat to myself these kinds of new thoughts,
And now they have become my beliefs.
I begin with appreciation for Source,
My name for God.
Thank you,
Source,
For holding me as your pure positive object of attention.
Thank you for always surrounding me with unconditional love and compassion.
Thank you for supporting me,
Guiding me,
Loving me,
Blessing me,
Cherishing me,
And helping me.
Many times,
I would just keep adding to this list over and over.
Then I continued,
I am an extension of Source energy embodied.
I am unconditional love,
Joy,
And freedom.
I am hope,
Peace,
And kindness.
I am an uplifter,
Teacher,
And healer.
I am abundance and well-being.
I am clarity,
Curiosity,
And adventure.
I am pure positive light and love.
I am joy embodied.
Now,
I didn't believe these all at once.
That's why I needed to repeat them over and over,
Just like the quote above suggests.
As with any new belief I want to instill in me,
I must repeat that thought over and over to where a deep pathway in my mind so it will become dominant in my life.
As my thoughts become my beliefs,
They have the opportunity to create a new reality that is much more pleasing to me.
I say these new beliefs to myself,
Yes,
But I also write them over and over and really feel into each one.
Scientifically,
We know that writing by hand is so valuable to anchoring a new belief,
And this action physiologically rewires our brains.
These are the new pathways that are becoming dominant.
As we activate these new neural pathways in our brains,
We are rewiring our brains to think in alignment with our new beliefs.
So we more easily look for evidence of our new beliefs.
When we stop spending so much time thinking about our old beliefs that don't resonate with us,
Their pathways in our brains will disconnect from disuse.
So we don't need to go in and pull the plug on those old beliefs,
We simply must stop thinking those thoughts.
This formula for changing our beliefs is so much easier than thinking we have to go in and tear out the old ones.
Old beliefs will naturally fill back in because we are not walking that path through our minds anymore.
Wear a path in your mind that you want to dominate your life.
If you want beliefs that feel good and resonate with your soul,
Start walking back and forth,
Back and forth along that line of thinking.
Soon you'll have a deep pathway that are lined with beauty,
Love,
Joy,
Freedom,
Well-being,
And abundance.
Thank you for listening.
