Snippets of Wisdom number 87.
The Positivity Conundrum.
Are you trying to be positive all the time?
How do you react when you can't seem to stay positive?
Do you berate and belittle yourself?
Do you think you should be able to be positive 100% of the time?
Relax.
Give yourself a break.
Don't beat up on yourself.
I was in a non-positive place and was criticizing myself because I teach this stuff.
I should know better,
Do better,
Be better by now.
I took a breath and decided to be nicer to myself.
So I went looking for comfort and relief.
And guess who popped up in my search?
Abraham Hicks,
Of course.
Here's what I read.
We would like you to ease up on yourselves and not try so hard to be what we call and you call positive all the time.
Because first of all,
It isn't possible.
And second of all,
It makes you hard on yourself and others for no good reason.
Being positive all the time is simply not possible.
Whoo!
What a relief!
When positivity becomes work,
We're trying too hard.
We get judgmental toward ourselves and others.
We begin to look for something or someone to blame.
So why can't we be positive all the time?
It's because we are eternal beings living a human experience.
Yes,
Our inner beings are always positive and never judge our non-positive attitudes.
In the physical realm,
We have agreed to live in a world of contrast so that we can make choices for improved preferences.
When we see something we don't like,
We get to choose what we would prefer.
In the step one moment of seeing contrast and deciding what we prefer,
We may be in that place of non-positivity.
We see the problem or unwanted condition and we feel bad.
That's exactly as it should be.
The negative emotions have value for comparison with positive emotions.
The universe depends on us for expansion when we create something new every time we look at a problem.
So contrast always has value and we should bless the contrast for doing its job.
Step two is complete without our help.
As Source always answers yes to our request.
Step three is our only work in that we must align with what we've asked for.
That's where the positivity conundrum comes in.
We try so hard to be positive to align with our desires,
Yet positivity is who we are.
It's natural to our inner being.
It's our mind-body that gets out of whack because we are humans with a myriad of experiences,
Good and bad,
Positive and negative.
So relax.
Take a breath.
Release the tension in your shoulders and say ah.
Let the Source within restore your positivity.
Don't take it so seriously.
Begin looking for things that are going right.
Praise someone for a job well done.
Appreciate something,
Anything.
Let your positivity be fluid and flow with ease.
Allow it to ebb and flow.
Choose in the moment how you want to feel.
Positivity will always return if you relax and accept your pure goodness.
Big hugs,
Marianne.
