Snippets of Wisdom,
Number 48,
No Justification Needed.
What do you do when you don't feel your best?
How do you handle feeling bad?
Do you look around for a reason that's making you feel bad?
Do you look around for something or someone to blame?
Do you feel the need to justify why you're not feeling good?
Or do you beat yourself up for being in this position or circumstance again?
These questions hit home for me.
I used to think it was important to find that bothersome issue and eradicate it.
Now I have a different perspective on how to deal with these issues.
I'm learning that the more I look for what's going wrong,
The more things go wrong.
I've realized that if I'm focusing my energy on what's wrong,
I'm making it bigger and more pronounced in my experience.
But now when I notice I'm not feeling good,
I stop and breathe.
I look around for something that's going right and makes me feel better.
I reach for thoughts that bring me relief over and over until I do start feeling better.
I don't need to find that little demon issue and wrestle it to the ground and kill it.
All I need to do is choose to feel better right here,
Right now.
Even a little better.
I found this quote from Abraham Hicks that spoke directly to my thoughts about this.
No matter what the issue is,
Don't try to justify why you don't feel good.
And don't try to justify why you should feel differently.
Don't try to blame whatever you think the reason is that's keeping you from feeling good.
All of that is wasted effort.
Just try to feel better right now.
This makes life so much simpler,
Doesn't it?
We don't need to justify,
Blame,
Or waste any effort in identifying an issue.
We simply need to feel better now.
No justification needed.
Next time you aren't feeling your best or have an issue that has crept in because of your resistance,
Throw your head back and laugh.
Say,
Ah ha ha ha ha,
I'm free to feel better now.
And then do it.
Feel better now.
Make it a point to look for things to appreciate.
Look for positive aspects and things that are going right.
Find anything you can think about that feels better now.
Committing to a daily practice of meditation,
Prayer,
Listening to these talks,
Is a great way to support feeling better now.
No justification needed.
Big hugs.
