Hi,
I wanted to share a few words about the courage it takes us to choose joy for real.
I just heard a talk about joy and and suffering from brother Fap Who is the abbot of Plum Village in France.
And it really resonated with me because basically what he was saying is that joy can frighten us.
And this is something that I always notice around my practice with body and voice.
You know,
My main work is to help people free their voice and to structure their creativity,
To let them reconnect with their body,
Mind.
And to find ways to express themselves by revealing their true nature,
Without forcing themselves,
Without changing anything,
But by reconnecting to the true joy of being alive in our bodies,
In our minds,
By playfulness and creativity.
And to me joy is the doorway to deepening our relationship with ourselves and with others,
And also to have a different perspective on our suffering,
On our pain.
Because the more we reconnect with what makes us feel good,
With what makes us feel really alive,
The more we experiment joy,
Even through glimpses,
Through a few minutes,
The more we are able to discern where our suffering comes from and how we can alleviate it,
The more we are able to switch from useless pain what we call in Buddhism the second arrow,
From useless pain to joy.
And this is not something that happens overnight,
This is not spiritual bypass,
It doesn't mean that you erase all of your pain and that you deny what's happening in the world right now.
But precisely because right now this is so chaotic.
Because there is so much suffering through all the dimensions of being.
Be it nature,
Humans,
Culture,
Relationships.
Everything is so dismantled and I think that's for good.
But what do we do with that?
Do we choose fear or do we choose joy?
And knowing that joy is a path of wisdom,
To me at least,
This is how I perceive it.
Alms.
The way we welcome it.
Is the way we can also welcome suffering.
It's not about erasing something.
And you know,
Denying and making some spiritual bypass and say,
Let's be joyful.
That's not how it works.
There are days when I woke up And I just wanted to cry because of my personal situation or collective situation.
You know,
These are emotions,
These are normal,
But our natural,
Normal,
So-called normal state is joy,
It's the blue sky,
So of course clouds exist,
But from time to time,
We have to remember.
It's really a matter of remembrance.
It's not performing joy.
It's remembering,
Even for a few seconds or minutes.
That's how it feels to feel good with no reason.
And precisely one of the reasons why people are so afraid to experiment joy is because It's free.
Effortless and it can be immediate.
And so this is completely a revolution against what capitalism and what the outer world is forcing us to do,
Which is making much effort,
Proving ourselves,
And we have to deserve.
And deserving is something that is,
You know,
From the past.
We don't have to claim anything.
We are already made of joy.
We have to remember it.
Hands.
Yeah,
My journey has been to.
.
.
Remember myself.
How my inner child could be free in order to grow and to step into an adulthood which is really Um,
Nature.
And more wise.
Because joy is again something that leads to wisdom.
So that was just.
.
.
My words for today and if you want to know more,
You can practice from my resources.
If you're watching me on Insight Timer,
I will leave you here because I'm not allowed to say more,
To share more,
But take care and you know where you can find me.
