There have been moments lately where I've tried something new.
Something I felt excited about at first.
There was a spark and a kind of thrill in the beginning,
But not long after I could feel the self-doubt start to creep in.
Is this good enough?
Should I even be doing this?
What if I fail?
And I noticed how quickly that doubt began to dim my joy.
So if you felt that too,
If you've ever started something new and felt that shift,
You are not alone.
Gently now find a comfortable position.
Let your body settle softly and naturally.
Rest your hands wherever they feel at ease and take a slow breath in through your nose.
And exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Inhaling deeply and exhaling fully.
And then let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
Bring your awareness inward.
Beneath the noise of doubt,
Beneath the questions and the pressure,
There is a quieter place.
A part of you that chose to begin.
The part of you that felt curiosity and a willingness to try.
That part of you is still here.
Take a breath in and as you exhale gently release the need for this to go perfectly.
You don't need to prove anything here.
What you create and what you try.
What succeeds and doesn't.
That is separate from who you are.
Your worth is not measured by outcomes.
It is not shaped by success or failure.
You are already whole.
Already enough before any result.
If self-doubt appears again notice it without judgment.
You might gently say,
I see you,
But you don't get to lead.
And then return to your breath.
Even the missteps,
The moments that feel like failure,
The awkward beginnings,
They are not signs to stop.
They are proof that you are in motion.
That you are learning,
Growing and becoming.
Take a deep breath into the belly and as you exhale release the pressure to get it right.
There is no perfect way to do this.
There is only your way.
Let yourself return not to the outcome,
But to the experience.
To the quiet joy of trying.
Of allowing yourself to be new at something.
And before we close,
Join me in affirmations either out loud or silently to yourself.
I can trust the process.
I can keep going.
This does not define me,
But it is shaping me.
Take one last deep breath in and exhale.
Gently bringing back your awareness to your body and your surroundings.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
And keep on trying my friend.
