Thank you for joining me for this meditation,

Focusing on grounding into ourself as a source of foundation,

Stability,

Trust,

And safety.

In tumultuous times,

It can be easy to forget that we have the ability within ourselves to cultivate a space of security.

So often we tend to look without for assurance of our safety and wellbeing,

But to witness these characteristics without,

We must first cultivate them from within.

Bring yourself to a comfortable seated position,

Your head aligned with your shoulders and shoulders balanced over your torso and hips.

Take a couple of shoulder rolls forward and backward to loosen the shoulder blades before drawing your chest slightly forward,

Lifting your heart space,

And allowing the shoulders to drop comfortably down away from the ears.

Let us begin by simply observing the natural flow of the breath.

Is it short and shallow?

Or slow and long?

When you inhale,

Do you feel your chest expanding with the movement?

Simply bring awareness and curiosity to the natural flow of the breath now.

We have with us in each moment the anchor of the breath that can bring us into a space of calmness.

This anchor draws our attention inward and allows us to observe and ultimately influence our nervous system's response.

Now begin to consciously take deeper breaths,

Feeling the full expansion of the belly and chest as if the breath is a flashlight and you're shining it into all the crevices of the body.

Such deep breaths signal to our system that it's safe to transition from our more hyperactive state to restoration and rejuvenation.

Take a couple minutes to savor the breath here.

Let's do it five,

Six more times.

You are the light of the sun.

You are the light of the sun.

You are the light of the sun.

You are the light of the sun.

Now imagine a glowing red pinpoint of light blossoming at the base of your spine.

With each inhale,

Envision this light growing with the rhythm of the breath.

As you continue this cycle of expansive inhalation and full exhalation,

Hold in your mind the affirmation,

The earth supports me and meets my needs.

As we focus our attention on this area,

Our energy flows to this space as well,

Thus activating the root chakra and cultivating feelings of trust,

Support,

Nourishment,

Prosperity,

And groundedness.

Continue to grow this expansive red light with each inhale whilst reciting this affirmation internally or aloud to yourself.

The earth supports me and meets my needs.

Breathe here at your own pace for the next few minutes as the red light at the base of your spine expands farther and farther,

Blooming to encompass your hips and torso,

Then your full body,

Before eventually expanding beyond the body to fill your auric field.

Breathe here in the support of a nourishing red light and energy of the root chakra as you continue to recite the affirmation,

The earth supports me and meets my needs.

Breathe here at your own pace for the next few minutes as the red light at the base of your spine expands farther and farther,

Blooming to encompass your hips and torso,

Then your full body,

Before eventually expanding beyond the body to fill your hips and torso,

Tune into the strength and stability that your body offers.

Sense the strength that your body exudes as it holds you upright and thank your body and the earth for this unwavering support.

Now begin to imagine the red light that has encompassed you becoming a whirlpool with its center located at your root chakra.

This whirlpool is swirling around you,

Drawing the energy that has been cultivated back into your root chakra with each exhale.

Rest here for a few more breaths,

Basking in the support and trust that has been nurtured,

Feeling rooted in your being,

In this present moment,

In this body,

And this reality.

From this firm place of rootedness,

All things come.

Without roots,

A tree does not receive the nourishment needed to grow and bear fruit.

Similarly,

To grow into an expansive and life-giving tree,

We must focus on our roots and let the fruit come when it may.

Now maintaining this connected groundedness,

Begin to bring your attention back to the sensations in your extremities.

Begin by wiggling your toes and fingers,

And when you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes.

Thank you for joining me for this practice and grounding back into ourselves.

I wish you a blessed day full of nourishment.

Namaste.
