The sign of cancer is associated with emotions,

The inner world,

Needs,

Desires,

Family,

Tradition and home.

In this exercise we will use active imagination to help you connect with the energy of cancer and gain insights into these facets of your life.

So first find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down where you won't be disturbed.

Take a couple of deep breaths.

Allow your mind and body to relax naturally.

And just keep your attention on the breath for now.

And if at any point you do get distracted,

Just bring the attention back to the exercise.

And now imagine yourself standing in a peaceful and beautiful meadow under the warm lights of the late afternoon.

Off in the distance there is a house.

This isn't just any house.

It is your inner home.

A representation of your psyche.

Begin to make your way towards the house.

As you approach the house,

Take note of its exterior.

It could be a representation of your public self,

The side of you that you show to the world.

Reflect on this image and how it resonates with your current life situation.

Now,

Step inside the house.

You find yourself in a welcoming hallway from which several rooms can be seen.

Each room signifies a unique aspect of yourself.

The first room of the hallway represents your emotional self.

Enter this room and observe your surroundings.

Do you see objects or figures that might symbolize your current life situation?

Objects or figures that might symbolize your present emotional state or past emotional experiences?

Allow yourself the time to explore and engage with these symbols,

Acknowledging any feelings they stir within you.

Next,

Return to the hallway and then venture into another room.

This space embodies your family connections and traditions.

What images or figures appear here?

What images or figures appear here?

Do they represent family members or events from your past?

Spend time interacting with these symbols,

Exploring your sentiments about your family and your inherited traditions.

Now,

Step back into the hallway another time and move on to the next room.

This room represents your needs and desires.

This room may contain symbols of what you strongly want or feel you lack.

As before,

Engage with these symbols and consider what they suggest about your current desires and needs.

Once you've finished exploring these rooms,

Find a quiet space in the house to sit down.

Reflect on your journey through the rooms and the insights you've gained.

How can you integrate these insights into your daily life?

Take a moment to express gratitude for the understanding,

The support,

And the love you've been given.

Take a moment to express gratitude for the understanding and insights gained during this exploration.

Now,

Make your way to the front door of the house and step back out into the meadow,

Now under the cool glow of moonlight.

So,

Gradually bring your attention back to the space around you now.

Any sounds or sensations?

Take a deep breath,

And in your own time,

Opening your eyes again.
