Hello,
I'm Mahip and welcome to the Non-Duality Poetry Series.
Today,
I'll be leading a small guided meditation followed by one of my poems on non-duality or non-dual awareness experience.
So let's begin with our meditation.
Take a position that is most comfortable for you.
You can either sit down on a chair or a cushion or you can lie down if that's what you like.
If you're sitting down,
Make sure that your back is straight and if you're lying down,
Make sure your arms are open towards the sky and there are no distractions or discomfort in your posture.
Now,
Let's take the attention of the awareness onto the breathing sensations.
Let's take a long breath in.
Hold for a second and breathe out.
Another breath in.
Hold and breathe out.
You can continue to breathe at a regular pace while maintaining the attention on the breath.
Anything that comes up in your experience is welcome.
Any thought,
Any emotion,
Memory or sensation that you notice in the consciousness,
Welcome it with acceptance.
We are not trying to judge any part of the experience.
We are not going to deny or repress any emotion that comes up.
Whatever has come up will stay and then pass away and that is the nature of human experience.
No thought or emotion or experience lasts forever just like clouds.
They come into the awareness and fade away.
Constantly moving and changing.
However,
Like the sky,
On top of the clouds,
Never changes and stays there.
Like a silent witness,
Our awareness allows thoughts,
Emotions and sensations to come up and go.
Change as much as they wish without changing itself.
Be that awareness in this meditation practice.
When the mind gets identified with thoughts of past or future,
Come back to the breathing sensation.
Come back to the remembrance of who you are.
Come back to the awareness and keep noticing the changes in sensations of breath.
The more you notice the changes happening within the field of awareness,
The more you become the unchanged,
Unmoved awareness.
Keep going back to the breath.
Keep noticing the sensations that arise in your experience as a result of breath.
Let go of everything else and be here in the now.
Let go of the thoughts of the past that is no longer here.
Let go of the thoughts of the future that is not here yet.
And be in this moment with me,
With yourself.
And while you continue to practice this meditation,
I'll go on to read a poem for you.
This one is called The Eye Paradox,
Written on August 12,
2019.
I am the one with no second.
I am the second with no one.
I am the subject of my objectivity.
I am the object of my subjectivity.
I am the cause and I am the effect.
I am the process and also the interject.
I am the beginning and also the end.
I am the enemy and also the friend.
I am the middle without any sides.
I am the ocean and also the tides.
I am the center without any circumference.
I am the transferee and also the transference.
I am the shine and also the light.
I am the eyes and I am the sight.
I am here and there at the same time.
I am the poet and poetry too of this rhyme.
I am no one.
I am nothing.
Yet,
I am in everyone and in everything.
I am beyond comprehension,
Yet I am the reason you comprehend.
I am beyond imagination,
Yet you imagine me every second.
If you know me,
You know it all.
But to know me,
All knowledge has to fall.
This journey seems difficult,
But trust me,
It's not.
Paradoxes are many to pierce your thought.
Beyond the thoughts lies freedom from mind and beyond the mind lies the freedom from time.
When the time is absent,
The duality goes away.
Past becomes present and future out of the way.
In this state of oneness,
There is no regret or anticipation.
Reality is the one state with no room for imagination.
Come and seek and you will find the bliss.
It is no rocket science,
But simply acceptance of what is.
