Wherever you're finding yourself,
However position,
Whether seated,
Laying down or standing,
You're invited here to keep your eyes open for the time being,
Beginning to become aware of your eyes,
Aware of your eyes as you see through them.
No judgment needed,
No analysis required,
Just observing how you're aware of seeing through your eyes,
Seeing what is right in front of you.
No matter how strong the mind's temptation to judge and label what it is you're seeing,
Here you're invited to simply witness,
Remaining aware that you are seeing while staying free from determining what it is that you're seeing,
Just witnessing,
Simply observing,
Aware of your gift of sight,
Nothing more and nothing less.
Each time the mind returns,
Remember that in this very moment here,
You are seeing through your eyes,
And that means each time the mind takes you away.
You can immediately return to becoming aware of your eyes,
And from here your eyes seeing,
Gazing upon whatever is in front of you,
Observing,
Witnessing,
Free from judgment,
Simply seeing,
Allowing yourself to consciously take in through your eyes what is in front of you,
Just to your right,
To your left,
Slightly above and below,
Witnessing through your own eyes this environment that you are present in,
Free from the mind's activity,
Free from the mind meaning that there is judgment at times,
Labeling of what you're seeing,
Analysis or even stories,
Thoughts that arise from what it is that you're observing,
Free from the mind simply meaning that you have the choice to return to simply seeing,
That you have the choice to stay free from judgment,
And when judgment arises to return to your eyes,
To return to the action of seeing,
This beautiful activity you do every day,
We all do every day,
Here and now,
Gaze around some more,
Slowly,
Consciously,
As you do,
Can you feel how subtly things have an impact on you as you gaze upon your landscape here,
Your environment,
Can you become a little more aware of the experience of seeing,
No need to intellectualize what and how that looks like,
But just trusting that you can allow yourself to experience and feel the experience of gazing around you,
When nothing requires a label,
Nothing needs to be named or judged,
We can simply gaze around to witness everything that is present in this very moment,
Here and now,
And from right here,
Having been aware of your eyes and your eyesight,
You may now close your eyes ever so gently,
Letting them fully close,
Darkness right before your eyes,
Soft,
Bringing a sense of comfort,
A sense of rest for your eyes that so attentively and intentionally were gazing about your environment,
Give yourself this time here to feel your eyes resting,
Aware of any subtle nuance sensations within your eyes,
And maybe even around your eyes,
Feeling the rest,
No judgment needed,
And even though your eyes are now closed,
When the mind returns with its chit-chat nature,
The process of finding presence again is the same with your eyes closed,
When you notice the mind become aware of your eyes that rest now within your eye sockets,
And here allow yourself to feel your eyes and the space around them,
The eyes being closed,
Our permission for rest to occur,
An almost autonomous response of your body,
So natural,
So innate to your being,
So please take as much time here within this space to consciously let your eyes rest,
To be here with your eyes while they rest,
In that sense,
Gifting your eyes your presence,
After they gifted you with sight,
With the ability to see this world that you are in,
Of course here,
Your eyes deserve the rest,
For all the gifts they give us each and every day,
Often unnoticed,
Here is the time now to acknowledge the invaluable gift of sight,
Remain here,
Present with your eyes for as long as you need,
For as long as your eyes need it,
To see consciously is a gift,
Be with it,
