Hi there and welcome to Balance Yoga Studio with me,
Linz.
This practice is number two of a five part series for creating more balance through meditation.
This week we are focusing on creativity.
So much of our daily life bombards us with input.
It's quite cool that we have access to all the information in the world but it's easy to get lost in that information.
And too much coming in can cause our circuits to burn out.
By using this meditation you can help yourself focus more on creativity and passion.
Parts of the personality that can get lost when we're busy.
We can empty some space on the inside and give space to creativity,
Joy and fun.
So let's begin.
Turn off all distractions and take a seat.
Spend a little time stretching the body before settling yourself into stillness.
As you still the body set the intention to remain as physically still as possible.
Take a few deep cleansing breaths and if you've not done so already let the eyelids very slowly close.
We will now begin a breathing exercise that will help you to access the more creative and passionate parts of the personality.
Take the first two fingers of the right hand and place them over the right nostril.
Closing off the nasal channel.
Begin to breathe in and out through left nostril.
If the channel is blocked just release the hand and stay with some deep,
Calm,
Gentle breaths.
Notice how the body feels as you breathe in and out of the left nostril.
Place the right hand back down to the lap.
Stay with deep breaths and as you're breathing in this way see if you can take the breath down to the low belly,
Just below the belly button.
Use your imagination if you need to.
If you enjoy visualisations you can imagine breathing into an orange ball of light in the low belly.
But if that doesn't work for you just focus on the sensation of breath in that area.
Now begin to drop into a more natural breath.
I'm going to say a few affirmations which are statements that you can repeat in your mind's eye.
As I say these affirmations repeat them after me and pick one that feels right for you today.
I am creative.
I am passionate.
I am joyful.
I am abundant.
I go with the flow.
I am comfortable in my body.
Choose one and begin repeating it in the mind's eye.
If you would like to bring the breath into this practice on the inhale say I am and on the exhale your chosen word.
This is all you need to do for the remainder of the practice.
I'm going to leave you in peace until the end of the meditation.
It's now time to come back to the sound of my voice.
Let go of your affirmation.
As we slowly begin to close the practice.
Start to take deeper breaths focusing on the lifting and the lightness of the inhale.
Inviting in more energy and a sense of awakening.
Finally start to wriggle the fingers and the toes and take a full body stretch.
Whenever you're ready open the eyes.
Take as much time as you need to to reflect on your practice.
I encourage you to practice this every day if possible for the next seven days.
Repetition is really key to creating a firm foundation in meditation.
There's no quick fixes.
And if you'd like to know more about me and how you can work with me I'll pop a link to the website in the description box below.
But for now I will leave you to the rest of your day.
Thank you for joining me.
