
Baby Loss Birth Preparation Meditation

This track is designed to be used prior to the delivery of a baby that has died. It's a track to help families prepare in a way that is gentle. It is written to help promote strength and also reduce anxiety at a time that is extremely scary. I hope it helps, this approach helped me prior to the delivery of my daughter Ellie who was born under 24 weeks.

This track is a track to be used during the time that you receive bad news and you know you have to say goodbye to your baby.
This track was written with the baby loss community in mind,
Understanding as a bereaved mother what this idea of limbo land means and I wanted to create a resource that you could use that would help to promote a little bit of relaxation during this extremely difficult time and also talk about this idea of building strength at a time that you need it most.
So ensuring that you're in a comfortable relaxed position without any distractions and then gently allowing your eyes to comfortably close and while your eyes are closed I'll explain a little bit about what to expect as you enter a state of relaxation.
Now you already have all the knowledge you need to understand how to enter a relaxed state of both mind and body.
You have experience of entering a trance-like state many times each day.
I'm sure you can recall times that you have been wandering along and discovered that your mind begins to wander to thoughts or ideas and dreams or the experience of waiting in line as you start to daydream.
So as you sit there beginning to drift off into a comfortable relaxed trance-like state you can hear the sound of my voice and you have an awareness of different thoughts and ideas that come to mind.
And while you listen to the sound of my voice I'm going to talk to you just like in everyday situations like when you were in school listening in a class and you may have occasionally drifted off into a daydream and then later realized that you actually didn't know what the class was about.
Many people go into a trance-like state and some people don't remember anything and some people remember some things but you can remember what is important to consciously remember whilst at the same time forget what's unimportant to recall after this recording.
When there is no need to try and go into a relaxed state it can happen all by itself and you can develop this state in your own unique way based on your own lifetime full of experiences of situations.
When you have entered a relaxed trance-like state easily and effortlessly from all those times that you have discovered yourself to have been daydreaming through to those times you become deeply absorbed in what you are doing.
So now with your eyes closed you can enjoy a moment's quiet while your unconscious prepares to enter a resourceful relaxed state that is just right for the work that we are doing here today.
That's right,
So now as people enter a trance-like state they often begin to notice how their breathing changes.
For some people their breathing speeds up a little before it settles on a relaxed rhythm,
A nice steady rhythm and then for others it just begins to comfortably relax.
Breathing helps to deepen and maintain a relaxed state and many people become intrigued to discover how much more youthful they look as their facial muscles begin to smooth out.
This smoothing and relaxing of all the muscles in the face and throughout the entire body and that continued feeling of comfort that people feel when they come out of relaxation later that some of the side effects of entering a hypnotic relaxed state in this way.
So while you prepare to enter a relaxed state of both mind and body I wonder what positive side effects you will receive.
Your mind might wonder at times but whatever happens my voice can go with you.
That's right,
Now as you listen to me and you continue to breathe in that way and notice certain sensations you can continue to become fully more absorbed with the sound of my voice or maybe the spaces between my words while I talk to you.
You know there are many different ways of experiencing the enjoyment of walking along a beach as you drift deeper into relaxation you know some people like to walk barefoot in the sand feeling that sand on the feet and through the toes and some people like the sun to be dry and warm others like the sun to be cool and wet and we all have our own preferred experience of walking along a beach but you will have an idea of what you consider to be the perfect beach what the weather conditions are like whether it's daytime or nighttime and what the temperature of the water is whether you are barefoot or walking on the stones shingle or sand and whether the sand is fine and powdery or larger grains or even a different shoreline entirely only you know what your experience is that you can internally enjoy and I don't know whether you will just be listening along and relaxing or imagining your own experience while you drift deeper into relaxation or whether you just have a sense of strolling along a beach some people like rough water others like the water calm and others like it somewhere in between some people don't mind any weather as long as they are prepared for it and dressed appropriately then as you continue to become more fully absorbed with each breath as the waves roll in and out I wonder whether you could notice a small inviting hut in the distance a hut that you don't recognize yet but it seems familiar and as you approach that hut you can drift deeper and deeper with each step you take going deeper only at a rate and speed that is comfortable for you and when you arrive at the hut you can be curious about what's inside and when you feel ready you can begin to open the door and there in front of you you see a chair you don't recognize the chair however it looks so familiar and very inviting and after getting a sense of your surroundings you can make your way to the chair and relax yourself into it getting a sense of closing your eyes as you become highly receptive to ideas and concepts that help you to achieve a calm state of mind drifting deeper with each breath that you take and with every deeper breath you take as you sit here and relax in this hut you begin to drift and dream and you may or may not hear the sound of waves as only you know if there are waves within this place because you have created this within your mind but I wonder if you can bring to your mind the imagery or the essence of waves anyway bringing to mind what they look like what color they may be what shapes may unfold as one wave rolls into the other rolling in and rolling out and there may or may not be elements that you notice that you like or you dislike about what you hear and see just like everything in life there are things we like and things we dislike there are also things just as you know that are out of our control because life can be untamable unpredictable just like nature is nature's untamable and unpredictable and sometimes nature blooms and then other times even though we wait for nature to bloom nature doesn't unfold as it was planned to unfold sometimes we know why and other times we don't know why but nature teaches us something that just as summertime brings colors and shades yellows greens oranges reds purples nature also shows us darkness with browns and blacks grays and other colors in between that you may wish to imagine now it shows us both light and darkness and no matter what season is unfolding nature is unapologetic it understands that in order to thrive and move forward there must be a cycle of life and within this cycle of life there are unpredictable events that occur but no matter what occurs nature understands that it has to allow this process to unfold not focusing on the past or worrying about the future as it knows that all of this is out of its control and no amount of shame or blame guilt sadness or longing will change the past or the future and there is an inner wisdom deep inside of you that knows that you too are part of nature just as nature doesn't question events from the past or what is to come in the future it draws on what's available in the present moment taking inner strength from its immediate resources noticing what's real now and while it may be painful to acknowledge what is happening now nature has the ability to trust that it can get through this moment for example when a tree where there's a storm and a lightning bolt its branches may fall and its treetop may violently blow around but its roots are strong you too have the ability to draw upon your own strong roots because you too are nature and all you need to think about in this moment is getting through this moment not what's to come not the aftermath of this storm but this moment allowing the breath to be your anchor rolling in rolling out and just like the waves emotions will also flow sometimes with more intensity and sometimes with a little more ease as you may begin to make sense of what is happening or maybe you won't but either way know that you have the inner strength and inner capabilities to get through this moment and the aftermath of this storm is not a priority right now so as you take some time to reflect on that unconsciously you may like to find yourself getting a sense of being back in your hud again in that place that only you know as you have created this in your mind that's right getting a sense now of drifting back into that chair and i don't know whether you will take four five six or eight breaths to fully reorient back to the chair before you can then start to work your way back along the route that took you into this relaxed trance today but as you do your conscious mind can ensure that all the new reprogramming has been installed throughout both your mind and body and in every cell and neuron your unconscious mind can honestly and fully integrate all your new learning into that deep and instinctive part of your mind while you continue your journey back to the here and the now and i don't know how much of what is there will be left there as you continue back and how much you will bring back with you but it's interesting to know how much you know you can be aware of while you're sat there in that seat so you can now find yourself working all the way back away from that state to the here and the now becoming more aware of sounds all around you sounds of me an awareness of maybe what you will be getting on with later and other random thoughts that start to cross the mind and in a moment i'm going to count to three and on the count of three you can open your eyes and be fully back in the room counting one two three and opening your eyes taking a stretch if you need to move the body in any way you need to maybe just taking the time to rest here in this moment now this recording is a recording that you can use as many times as you need to during this time of limbo land before you experience what's to come next use this track to help you feel strength to help you feel calm to try and promote that relaxation response in your body as an act of self-care in preparation for the next coming days sending all my love
