Of Lemon Tree!

Hello,

It's Laura Lemon Tree here.

I'm going to take you on a journey into the beautiful desert.

Are you ready?

Make sure you're in a safe and comfortable position where you'll not be disturbed.

Lie down,

Squiggle and wiggle about and let your body feel soft and still.

Close your eyes gently and let your eyelids feel heavy.

You are feeling rested and you're feeling calm and relaxed and ready for your new adventure.

We need to be prepared to go on our trip first.

Take your imaginary bag of important things.

Some water,

Fruit and a scarf to protect you from the sun on your face and the sand in your eyes.

Your bag is light.

You don't need much,

But these things will help you whenever you need.

I want you to think about your breath.

It will give you energy and the morning sun will be bright and help you light your pathway.

Now you're ready for your desert adventure.

Take a deep breath in through the nose and a deep breath out through your mouth.

Slow it down.

Don't rush now.

Just relax.

Fill your lungs with air.

Right the way up and breathing out,

Feel your chest coming down.

The gentle breeze touches your face.

It feels nice and relaxing.

The sky is so blue and the sand has really changed.

The sky is so blue and the sand has ripples with lots of different shapes.

The light makes wonderful shadows.

As you look down on the sand,

You notice how beautiful and how different each and every grain is.

You look at the golden orange crystals glistening and glimmering in the sun.

The dry warm desert air fills your lungs with natural positive energy.

The air is hot as you breathe in.

But if you change the shape of your mouth,

Breathe out like you're blowing a whistle and it feels cooler.

In through the nose and out through the mouth.

Feel your own rhythm.

Try it.

In and out.

Focus on your breathing.

Flowing in and softly flowing out.

We need to make a positive mantra.

This is a special message of peace and love we share for all the people we meet.

We use it to help us relax and connect with our mind,

Body and everyone around us.

Here is your message.

Your friend is my friend and we share peace.

First,

I want you to say it out loud to yourself.

So you remember it.

Your friend is my friend and we share peace.

We need to practice it in our heads too.

If we repeat it,

It helps us to remember.

If we think about it every day,

It can help us stay positive and relaxed.

Notice what's around you.

What can you see?

You see a flock of tiny birds swishing by in the wind.

You hear a lizard scurrying around in the sand.

Then you notice in the distance a train of camels plodding along.

They all have great big hairy humps on their back.

One stops by to say hello.

His face looks kind and he's very happy.

He says hello,

His face looks kind with great big eyelashes,

Great big lips and when he chews on the grass from side to side,

It looks funny.

So you pass on your special mantra message.

Your friend is my friend.

We share peace.

Take your fruit from your bag and share it with him.

It's juicy and refreshing.

He is grateful and he smiles sweetly as you wave goodbye.

You look in the distance as far as the eye can see and you follow some footsteps.

The path winds through the dunes.

As you walk,

You notice the soft sand slipping between your toes making your feet feel warm.

As the sun gets hotter,

You stumble upon a shelter for travelers.

It's homely,

Comfortable and cool.

So you sit down,

Relax,

Chill out and return to your breathing.

You feel like you're in a place where you can feel the sun.

Chill out and return to your breathing.

The warm air flows in and the cool air flows out.

You bump into a man.

He looks very tired.

You give your friend shelter away from the boiling hot sun.

He is feeling very thirsty so you're glad to share some water with him.

Under the shade of a tree,

It's a perfect spot to meditate.

You feel happy to be in a quiet place.

So you say your mantra together.

Your friend is my friend and we share peace.

You feel connected with the desert,

The earth and your new special friends.

You whisper your mantra to the man.

You whisper your mantra one more time to the desert.

Your mantra is important and you can pass it on to every traveler from around the world.

Your friend is my friend and we share peace.

As the hazy sun sets,

You leave your shelter.

You are back from your home safe and sound,

Happy from your meditation adventure.

Gently open your eyes.

Meet your Teacher

My 3 year old was having a tantrum so I put this on. He quieted down and listened to the whole thing. By the end, he was smiling. I asked him what he thought of it and he said, "It made me calm down." :)
