So just finding a comfortable way of sitting,
Allow your body just to be at ease,
Settling in,
Taking a little deeper breath into your belly,
Letting your rib cage expand and breathing up to your collarbone.
And as you breathe out,
Just letting go of holding and settling in to this moment,
Letting go of the past,
Letting go of the future,
Just resting in the now.
And letting your eyes close,
Can just bring one of your hands up to where the back of the head and the neck meet.
Just cupping your hand and allowing your hand to support the back of your head.
Feeling like you're holding the head of a baby.
And as you do,
Just rest for a moment,
Feeling that support and safety and comfort.
And as you feel the warmth of your hand,
The energy coming from it,
Just allow that warmth and energy to go into your skin to the lower part of your brain.
Just sending a message of safety.
You can even feel as if you're turning off a switch for the fight or flight part of your brain so that your mind and body know that it is safe and that you can turn off and rest that part of the brain fully.
Then you can allow your hand to come back to rest on your lap and continue to feel the effect of the safety and deep rest.
There's nothing to do and nowhere to go.
Just resting as this wakefulness.
And soon just taking a little deeper breath as if waking from a wonderful sleep,
Fully renewed and refreshed.
You breathe out,
Allow your toes and fingers to begin to stretch.
And next time you're breathing in,
Allow a smile to come to your face.
Being fully alive and awake,
Breathing out,
Stretching more,
Just taking your time when you feel ready,
Opening your eyes.
Just allowing your eyes to be soft and receptive.
Just see without looking.
Having your awareness inside,
Aware of your breath,
Sensation and aliveness.
