OCD Self-Doubt: When You Feel You Can’t Trust Yourself
by Dr Liz White
When OCD makes you doubt your memory, intentions, feelings or sense of who you are, you can begin to feel disconnected from yourself. This gentle mindfulness practice is designed to help you reconnect. Through slow breathing, grounding and compassionate noticing, you will be guided away from analysing and searching for certainty, and back towards your body, your surroundings and the present moment. You will practise noticing OCD doubt and the urge to check, replay or work things out, without following the loop further. Instead, the meditation invites you to stay on your own side, meet yourself with warmth and return to a steadier sense of being here with yourself. The aim is not to make uncertainty disappear, but to help you come back to yourself while doubt is still present.
