You are listening to the Motherhood Unstressed podcast and I'm your host Liz Carlisle.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this guided meditation,
To connect back with who you really are,
To settle,
To dismiss all of the noise in your head and become one with your mind,
Body and spirit.
Doing this work is of the utmost importance for success in your relationships,
For success in your work and above all for success in your relationship with yourself and understanding who you really are.
Today's meditation is going to be about connecting to your true essence,
Not focusing on your outer body which fades with age or injury but truly connecting with your soul,
With that energy force that animates your body,
That allows it to be the vessel that it is.
But once you understand that you are not your body,
That you are something far greater,
Then you can really forgive yourself for imperfections or criticisms that do not serve you and do not serve your greater purpose here.
So let's get settled.
You can do this meditation seated with your legs crossed,
Palms facing the ceiling,
Gently resting on your knees or you can simply lie on your back or in a comfortable chair.
The point here is to be alert but also relaxed.
I myself don't like sitting too long in the cross-legged position so sometimes midway through I'll unfold my legs and just lay back on my yoga mat.
The meditation works just the same.
So get settled and let's take a deep cleansing breath in together and hold at the top and let it all go.
Hold again,
Deep cleansing breath through the nose.
Hold,
Release,
Hold.
Last one,
Deep breath in.
Hold,
Release,
Hold.
Now return to gentle rhythmic breathing,
Focusing now on the sensation deep within your body.
It might sound strange to say it that way but the moment you start tuning in,
You'll notice you can actually feel the energy surrounding your body and within your body.
Can you feel the sensation in your lips?
Can you feel the sensation near your heart?
What about in your hands?
Let's start from the top of the head and almost like a laser body scan,
Go down inch by inch,
Scanning down.
And as you go,
Really tuning into the sensation there past your throat,
Your shoulders,
Your belly,
Your hips,
Your legs,
Shins,
Ankle,
Toes.
I feel like you can scan back up with your laser,
Noticing any tightness or any areas where you may not feel anything.
Sometimes when we guard our hearts,
That area of our body is like a black hole.
So if you scan it again,
Use the laser to break apart that shell and breathe it out,
Fully becoming alive in your body even though you are not of your body.
It's a delicate balance but the more in tune you become,
The easier it is to understand.
I'll leave you now for about a minute or two to fully tune in to your body,
To the sensations that you feel,
To the energy that you feel.
Should almost feel like a quiet vibration.
It's your essence that will continue on after your body fades away.
You're welcome.
.
.
And let it all go.
Notice how you feel right now in your body.
Notice any release of tension that happened.
Any greater sense of aliveness you may feel in your mind,
In your spirit.
That's probably the thing I noticed the most after doing a meditation like this.
How much more alive and alert I feel.
And my wish for you is to go into your day fully alive,
Fully present,
So that you can see the miracles within your life.
They're always around you if you pay attention.
I hope you have a beautiful day.
