You're listening to the Motherhood Unstressed Podcast and I'm your host,
Liz Carlisle.
Thank you so much for taking the time to meditate today,
To get centered,
To come back home to who you really are beneath the facade of daily life of play acting in the real world.
It's time to get quiet and meet the person that you've always been hiding under your circumstances,
Your environment,
Your role,
Your career.
So get centered.
It might feel strange to meet who you really are if you haven't tried before.
But I think you'll find that when you do,
It's oddly familiar and certainly not as scary as you thought it might be.
So let's take a deep breath in through the nose for a count of eight.
Hold and release for a count of eight.
Hold.
Breathe in.
Hold.
Breathe out.
Hold.
Breathe in.
Hold.
Then breathe out.
Hold.
Last one together.
Breathe in.
Feeling your lungs hold and breathe out.
Return to a gentle rhythmic breathing in through the nose and out.
Again,
Not forcing anything.
Just letting your breath flow.
Spend your lungs and contract.
Sinking in your body is the first step in gaining that deeper sense of relaxation and focus that you find in meditation.
You might even start to realize that you haven't been fully breathing throughout the day.
You've been holding your breath.
Even I still notice it and I've been doing this for over 10 years.
Keep breathing,
Relaxing.
Allow your body to feel safe in this moment right now with you.
Overarching consciousness that exists within you can override your automatic functions of the body.
Let your true consciousness,
Who you really are,
Guide your body.
Take over the control and let your poor body who only wants the best for you to relax.
Tell it it's okay.
That it's safe.
Once you really start to feel your body relax,
Once you really start to let it believe what you're telling it,
You'll notice an immediate shift within.
Your shoulders might drop.
You can drop your jaw,
Release the tongue from the roof of your mouth and with every breath in through your nose,
Guide the breath to an area of your body that's calling for a release of tension.
It can be in your hips,
Sometimes in your hands,
Perhaps a space around your heart.
And with your mind's eye,
Start to crack open that area that's calloused,
Covered in a shell of tension and old anxiety,
Old energy that you haven't yet released.
And begin to crack it open and as you do,
Let light pour out of that area,
A renewal,
An awakening of your true self,
Cleansing and release of old things that don't serve you.
Let the cracking unfold within you as you continue to hold the reins of control of your breath.
Start to realize the immense power you have to control your body,
To create an environment of independence and safety from within so that nothing that happens in your environment can affect you and your peace.
Human beings are creators by nature.
You have the power to create heaven or hell right where you are in this moment,
In every moment of life.
By sitting still with me,
See that you can create whatever you desire.
It is possible.
And once you begin to heal your own inner child,
Your own inner being,
Find how easy it is to push that energy out and uplift everyone around you.
Send gratitude to your body,
Send gratitude to the people in your life who helped shape you.
And maybe those experiences weren't ideal,
But would you be the person you are today without them,
Questioning,
Curious,
Searching for peace.
Take the next minute or two to feel the emotions that come up,
To breathe,
To feel the control that you truly have over your life and your environment.
Just play with some ideas that I've laid out.
Come back into your body now from the ether.
You can roll your shoulders,
Roll your wrists.
If you haven't already,
Drink some water that you've said some kind things to.
It can change the structure and change you from within.
I hope you have an amazing day.
Thank you for taking the time to do this with me.
If you ever start to feel like you don't have control of your life,
Your emotions,
Your anxiety,
Your stress,
Remember this meditation.
Just remember how you felt during this meditation and know that you did that on your own.
I just guided you to this place.
You can do this wherever you are in the world,
In your life.
Come home to yourself and create a heaven in your own life.
Until next week,
Namaste.
