Hello and welcome to our meditation.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Meditation is a way to help our body and our mind feel calm and relaxed.
In our meditation today,
You will be imagining that you are a beautiful flower.
I recommend listening to this meditation as often as you need to.
You can choose to listen to it first thing in the morning to start off your day in a good mood.
You can also listen to it before bed to help you relax.
But it is especially helpful to do this meditation whenever you want to feel calm.
Start by finding a comfortable position.
You can sit or lie down.
So get nice and cozy,
And if you need to go and get anything to help you feel comfortable,
You can do that now.
If you need a pillow or blanket,
Socks or a sweater,
Even if you want to bring your favorite stuffed animals to help you feel comfortable.
If you would like,
You can pause the meditation to give yourself time to get the things that you need to feel comfortable.
Now that you have everything that you need to help yourself feel comfortable,
You can lie down or sit in a comfy spot and we will begin our meditation.
Remember meditation doesn't mean that you have to sit completely still.
Meditation is about finding that calm place inside you.
So feel free to stretch if you need to,
To wiggle,
And if you're itchy,
Go ahead and scratch it anytime.
And if it's halfway through the meditation and you think you would like to get into a better position,
You can do that anytime as well.
I want you to feel as comfortable as possible so that you can enjoy your meditation.
And when you are comfortable,
You can gently close your eyes.
And we're going to start our meditation by taking a few deep breaths.
So let's breathe in together and breathe out,
Breathe in and breathe out.
One more time,
Breathe in and breathe out.
If you notice yourself getting distracted or thinking of other things during your meditation,
Just remember that's totally normal and it happens to everyone,
Especially when we're meditating at home.
We might have pets and family nearby,
You might hear noises or people talking and that's totally okay.
Because it's easy to bring your attention back to your meditation,
All you have to do is listen to the music and listen to my voice and just take a few deep breaths to help your body relax even more.
Let's take a deep breath in and breathe out,
Breathe in and breathe out.
One more time,
Breathe in and breathe out.
Now with your eyes closed,
You can start to use your imagination and I want you to imagine that you are a beautiful flower standing out in the grass or in a garden with your roots planted in the rich soil.
Imagine your roots coming out from where your feet stand and your roots are moving down through the soil,
Through the earth.
Your roots dig deep into the earth,
Heading down towards the center of the earth.
And when they get to the center of the earth,
They wrap around the core of the earth,
Holding on strong to the center of the world.
Now imagine that your body is a stem and imagine your strong stem is standing tall in the long grass or in the garden.
And whenever a breeze comes by,
You sway gently in the wind back and forth,
But you still remain tall and strong.
And imagine where your arms are,
You have leaves coming out from your stem.
Your leaves are bright green and they lift up towards the sky and soak up the sunshine.
And now at the top of your head,
Imagine that you have the bud of a flower sitting quietly at the top of your stem.
And even though this bud is still closed,
Take a moment to picture the color of the petals.
Now imagine that you allow your flower petals to gently open at the top of your head and as you open your flower,
More and more petals appear.
Your petals are soft and silky,
They could be all one beautiful color or maybe they are an array of different colors blending together.
You are a beautiful,
Unique and special flower.
Now that your petals are open at the top of your body,
At the top of your stem,
Imagine that a stream of light is coming down from the bright blue sky above you.
And this stream of light is glowing white and it sparkles in the sunshine.
This stream of glowing white light reaches your flower petals and it flows through your flower and into your stem.
It flows down your stem and throughout your leaves and it goes all the way down to your roots.
Your whole body is full of this warm white glowing light.
And this warm light represents love and peace and happiness.
So you are surrounded by love and peace and happiness.
And as you are imagining yourself as this beautiful,
Unique and special flower,
I want you to repeat the following words after me.
You can either say them out loud or quietly in your mind,
But as you are imagining yourself as this beautiful flower,
Repeat after me.
I AM UNIQUE.
I AM SPECIAL.
I AM BEAUTIFUL.
Just take a deep breath in and breathe out,
Breathe in and breathe out,
Breathe in and smile as you breathe out.
You can now begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
You can stretch your body and you can open your eyes.
