Welcome to a smiling meditation to awaken deeper peace and joy.

My name is Linda Orsini and I would like to guide you into this gentle meditation to help bring a soft smile to your lips,

Your eyes and your heart.

As you settle into this moment,

Let's connect with our breath.

So just taking a deep inhale through the nose and exhale,

Sighing the breath out through the mouth.

Just slowly settling in here,

Allowing the inhales to be full and the exhales to be a deep releasing,

A deep letting go.

As we slowly move into awakening a natural joy that resides within you.

Just allowing you to experience a sense of warmth and happiness from the inside out.

So if there's something that is disturbing you,

Whether it's a feeling,

A sensation,

Or something going on in your life,

Just become present to it here in this moment,

Noticing it without judgment.

And then let's hold compassion for that feeling thought or sensation.

The purpose of this meditation is not to dismiss what's going on around us,

But to really hold space with compassion,

Such tender compassion,

And then allow peace and joy to slowly unfold.

So let's take another deep inhale through the nose and exhale sighed out through the mouth.

As you slowly begin to melt into this moment,

Allow your whole physical body to soften.

Release any tension in the face,

In the shoulders,

In the stomach,

And in your legs.

Breathe into any spaces that may feel tight or constricted.

And not just in your muscles,

But even perhaps in your heart.

Allow your heart to soften here.

And to soften the heart,

Feel and notice your breath here.

Feel and notice the energy between the breaths.

That vital life force energy that allows you to breathe in and breathe out.

Breathing in and breathing out.

And maybe you would like to invite the color green,

The chakra color of the heart here,

Just into your heart center.

A beautiful shade of green that resonates deeply with you.

And as you bring attention to your heart center,

Noticing and allowing yourself to become even more fully present into this moment.

Allowing yourself to soften,

Creating space,

Creating a sense of peace and calm.

And with the heart soft,

Let's begin here by imagining a soft gentle smile spreading across your lips.

Not forcing it in any way,

But just allowing it to come naturally.

Feel the breath as the corners of your mouth lift,

Allowing this very soft and small action to create a gentle soft shift within.

A ripple of a new perspective,

A new sense of holding space,

Where your outer smile can begin to nurture your inner self,

Your heart space,

Your sense of self compassion.

Allowing your thoughts to slowly shift and transform into a sense of deeper peace and stillness.

And as you breathe into the slightly lifted edges of your lips,

Bring your attention to your eyes.

And even though your eyes are softly closed,

Picture and imagine a warm,

Kind smile in your eyes.

With a smile at the edges of your mouth,

Radiate upward into your eyes.

Feel the muscles around your eyes soften,

Allowing any tension to just slip away.

With both the edges of your lips lifted upward,

And the corners of your eyes softened,

Allow these muscles to slowly release and open the inner self,

Like turning a frown upside down.

With each breath,

Let this gentle smile melt away any tightness or strain that has been clenching in your heart.

Allow this shift in energy as you shift your physical body into a sense of greater joy and peace to slowly unfold,

Allowing it to just happen naturally without any force.

And then take a deep inhale through your nose.

And as you exhale the breath to the edges of your mouth,

And the corners of your eyes,

Gently shift your attention to your mind.

Imagine a smile within your thoughts,

Lighting up your mental space with a sense of warmth,

A sense of kindness,

And even some clarity.

If a thought passes through your mind,

Imagine placing a smile stamp on each thought as it slowly drifts away.

With each thought that arises,

Allow a gentle smile to unfold in your mind,

With the understanding that this too shall pass,

Letting whatever is arising drift out of your consciousness.

As Pema Chodron says,

You are the sky,

Everything else is just the weather.

Allow yourself to turn inward,

To be the sky.

And let everything else just be like the transient weather,

Coming and going while you stay grounded in that internal smile within your mind,

Within your thoughts,

Lighting and warming up that mental space.

As Buddha said,

The mind is everything,

What you think you become.

And then finally coming full circle,

Returning to your heart,

Imagine a radiant smile shining from your heart,

Filling your entire being with warmth,

With love,

And with gentle tenderness.

They say the longest distance traveled is from the head to the heart,

But here allow the eyes and the lips to bridge that distance,

Feeling and noticing a gentle smile at your heart center as a gift to your inner self,

Knowing and feeling that whatever is going on in your life,

The most lasting,

True and purest thing is the love that lives within us.

Breathing in and breathing out of the heart center as you exhale,

Continuing to allow everything to soften.

Allow the lips,

The eyes,

The mind,

And your heart to become present in this moment with a gentle softness.

It's about trusting and surrendering,

Trusting and surrendering.

Feeling the breath at your heart center with a softness that brings a smile to the edges of your mouth,

The edges and corners of your eyes,

Into your mind,

And into your heart.

Allowing that radiating green light to radiate outwards so that everything lifts naturally.

Breathing softly here into that essence of peace,

Of joy,

That a smile brings.

And if it resonates,

Maybe gently bringing one or both hands to your heart center,

And breathing here,

Feeling the energy behind your breath,

Knowing that whatever we cultivate within radiates outwards.

There is a traditional Sanskrit mantra,

And it goes like this.

Lokah Samistah Sukhino Bhavantu Meaning,

May all beings everywhere be happy and free.

Lokah Samistah Sukhino Bhavantu May our thoughts,

Words,

And actions contribute to the happiness and freedom for all.

Lokah Samistah Sukhino Bhavantu And radiating that interconnectedness between us.

Allowing the joy and peace and freedom that resides within us to radiate out to all beings.

And as you slowly continue to breathe here into this mantra,

Let's allow just two or three minutes to breathe here into this silence,

Into this intention that we are creating our own sense of peace and joy,

And sending that out to all beings to feel the essence of happiness,

Freedom,

And joy.

Lokah Samistah Sukhino Bhavantu Taking a deep inhale through the nose,

And exhaling it out through the mouth,

Slowly coming back into this present moment.

As you breathe into this space,

Allow this meditation halo of peace to radiate around you,

Nurturing the joy you've awakened within.

And then allow this meditation halo to expand outward into your consciousness,

And touching every part of your being,

And then sending it out to all beings.

Allowing this smiling sense of meditation to awaken inner peace and joy,

To be the energy that guides you as you move forward,

Helping you to remember and embrace your inner joy,

Compassion,

And love.

Knowing this inner light is always there,

Ready to support and uplift you whenever you need it.

Always wishing you great peace,

Joy,

Love,

And light.

From my heart to yours,

Namaste.
