Hello and welcome to a meditation for fear of failure.

Let's begin.

Find yourself somewhere to sit or lie down in a comfortable position and allow your hands to rest gently in your lap or at your sides,

Wherever you feel comfortable.

And if you feel safe to do so,

Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze downwards.

Take a deep breath in and a slow breath out and let your body begin to soften.

Let yourself arrive fully in this moment.

There is no right way to do this.

There is no wrong way to do this.

Just notice that you've made time for yourself.

That's already enough.

Bring your attention to your body.

Feel the points of contact between you and the ground or the chair.

Notice the sensations in your feet,

The sensations in your legs and the sensations in your hands.

Is there warmth,

Coolness,

Tingling or stillness?

Let yourself be held by gravity.

You don't need to carry everything right now.

Let the ground carry you.

Let yourself be supported.

Take another slow breath and gently exhale.

Allow your shoulders to soften.

Let go just a little bit more.

Now bring to mind the fear,

The feeling of fearing failure.

You don't need to dive into a story.

Simply notice the feeling.

Maybe bring to mind a situation where you felt that fear recently.

And where does that fear of failure live in your body?

In your chest?

Your throat?

Maybe the stomach?

Describe it gently to yourself.

Maybe it feels like tightness or heaviness.

Just be curious around the sensations.

No need to fix it.

Just feel it.

Reminding yourself all the time this is just a feeling.

It's not who I am.

This is just a feeling.

It is not who I am.

It is safe to feel this.

I can handle it.

It is safe to feel this.

I can handle it.

Let the words drop into your body.

And swirl around your heart.

And now gently breathe into the area where you feel that fear.

Imagine your breath as a soft,

Soft light.

Creating space around the fear.

Softening the edges.

Loosening the grip.

Let each breath bring you deeper and deeper into calm.

Inhaling,

I am here.

And exhaling,

It's okay to be afraid.

Inhaling,

I am here.

Exhaling,

It's okay to be afraid.

There is no need to resist the fear.

When we stop fighting it,

When we stop resisting it,

It loses all its power.

Hold space for your fear.

Breathe into your fear.

You are welcome here,

Fear.

I'm not afraid of you.

Keep inhaling and exhaling.

And now invite a new perspective.

What if failure isn't the end?

But simply in a very important part of your path.

Every single person you admire has failed many,

Many times.

Say gently to yourself,

Failure does not define me.

Failure does not define me.

Each step,

Even the hard ones,

Especially the hard ones,

Helps me grow.

Each step,

Even the hard ones,

Helps me grow.

I am allowed to stumble.

I need to stumble.

I am allowed to begin again.

I am allowed to stumble.

I need to stumble.

And I am allowed to begin again and again and again.

Let this truth settle into your body.

Not just in your mind,

But in your bones,

In your heart.

I invite you to place one hand over your heart.

Feel the warmth of your own touch.

And imagine you're speaking to yourself the way you would speak to a dear,

Dear friend.

Someone you love.

Someone who is scared and trying their best.

And silently offer yourself these words.

May I be kind to myself in this moment.

May I know that I am enough.

And may I trust the strength already inside me.

Feel that compassion and let it move through you.

May I know that I am enough.

May I trust the strength already inside me.

Now bring your awareness back to your breath.

Feeling the steady rhythm of your inhale and your exhale as you are breathed.

And feel the support beneath you.

And feel the air around you.

You've shown up for yourself today.

You've met fear with presence.

You've created space for courage to grow inside you.

Take one final deep breath in.

And slowly release with a sigh.

And when you're ready,

Start to bring some movement into your body.

Gently wriggling your fingers and toes.

Maybe stretching.

Maybe scrunching up your face.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Welcome back.

You are strong.

You are capable.

And you are so,

So enough.
