Hello,
Hello,
Beautiful soul,
And welcome to this nervous system reset.
Find a comfortable seated position or lying down on your back.
Take a deep breath in and a long exhale.
Let your body land here and gently close your eyes if that feels safe or you can find a gentle gaze,
A place to focus.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and a long exhale out your mouth.
Again,
Slow inhale,
Long exhale.
Notice where your body feels activated.
Is there a tightness in your chest,
A buzzing in your limbs?
Are you clenching your jaw or your belly?
No judgment,
Simply awareness,
Just noticing.
Now bring one hand to your heart and one hand to your lower belly and feel the warmth of your own touch,
Your own embrace.
This is a signal of safety.
Your body is always scanning for cues and right now you are giving it one.
And we're going to begin to slow the breath down slightly.
Inhale for four,
Two,
One.
Exhale for one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Again,
Breathe in four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Exhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Continue at your own pace,
Longer exhales.
Tell your nervous system you are safe.
You can soften.
You can relax.
With every exhale,
Imagine excess energy draining downward,
Out of your shoulders,
Out of your chest,
Into the ground beneath you.
And now gently notice your environment.
Without opening your eyes,
Sense the room you are in.
You are here in this moment,
Not in the past and not in the future.
And if your body has been in fight or flight mode,
Take a moment to thank it.
Thank your body.
It was trying to protect you.
Quietly say in your mind,
Thank you for keeping me safe.
You can soften me now.
Feel the weight of your body support it.
Nothing is chasing you.
Nothing is demanding from you in this moment.
Just breath.
And take one more slow inhale and a long,
Steady exhale.
Feel your feet.
Feel your seat.
Feel the support beneath you.
You can return to this at any time.
Regulation is not something you achieve.
It's something you practice.
When you're ready,
Gently blink your eyes open and carry this steadiness with you.
Namaste.
