Hi,
I'm Lori and welcome to this guided meditation exploring the powerful healing benefits of the Ho'oponopono Hawaiian Prayer.
This prayer is used when you have hurt someone and you genuinely want to make things right again.
We are going to use the Ho'oponopono prayer as a meditation to connect with that hurt we might have caused someone,
To heal that hurt,
To learn from it,
Grow from it,
And then to move on.
The Ho'oponopono prayer helps one to release lower vibrational energies stuck in our hearts,
In our minds,
Our bodies and spirits.
It helps one to release regret and shame,
Guilt and worry,
Fear,
Remorse,
Anger and grief and any other lower energy vibration associated with hurt and forgiveness and healing.
It helps to bring awareness and to allow for the healing to occur so that we may learn our lessons,
Grow and then finally move on.
So I want you to take a moment and think of a hurt you may have caused another.
It may have been harmful words you spoke.
It may have been some physical hurt you've caused.
Just take a moment and think about that hurt.
Bring it forward.
A hurt that you would like to heal.
In Hawaiian,
The Ho'oponopono prayer is broken down into four segments.
The first is I'm sorry.
The I'm sorry is the first step in repentance.
This is about recognizing the pain you have caused yourself or others through your actions or words.
It may be about a physical hurt or it could be an emotional hurt.
Either way,
You've caused a hurt and by saying I'm sorry,
You're connecting with the true remorse and regret,
Capturing the hurt we feel inside for having caused another person pain.
So I'm sorry,
A true heartfelt I'm sorry with the awareness of the hurt,
Pain and suffering you have caused the other person and bringing up those true remorseful feelings you feel deep inside your heart.
So think about the hurt that you have caused another.
Say I'm sorry and really mean it in your heart.
I'm sorry.
The second step in the Ho'oponopono prayer is please forgive me.
This is a step about forgiving yourself and asking for forgiveness from the person you've caused the hurt.
This is about recognizing yourself that you have caused pain.
You're acknowledging it,
You're owning it and then you're asking for true heartfelt forgiveness.
Please forgive me is a place deep in your heart where you connect with that true remorsefulness and sorrowful feelings of regret and shame,
Maybe guilt for causing another person any pain at all.
This is where you allow yourself to be forgiven,
Opening your heart and your mind,
Allowing the forgiveness to flow through,
Where you allow yourself to let go of the regret,
The sorrow,
The remorse,
Stress and trauma over what has actually happened.
Remember it's already done,
It's in the past,
It cannot be undone.
We have no magic beam of light that will shoot us back in time and redo it.
You have learned something from it and are now on the path to move forward.
Allow yourself to be forgiven,
Then forgive yourself as well so we can move through this process and on to the next step.
The third step of the Hoʻoponopono prayer is thank you.
This is a step of gratitude and true appreciation for all that you have learned from this experience.
You are thanking yourself for being so strong,
Strong enough to work through the hurt and strong enough to recognize you need to ask for forgiveness from yourself and the person you've hurt.
You are thanking those who are helping you work through this in the time in your life along your healing journey.
You are thanking the universe,
You are thanking God,
The creator,
The divine source or whatever you believe in.
You are thanking them for all that you have in your life that so many others do not.
You are thanking the person you are hurting for their forgiveness.
Just be in the feeling of gratitude and appreciation for all aspects of your life,
For the lessons you've learned by going through this.
I'm thanking everyone including the person you've hurt for helping you experience this experience and learn from this experience,
Heal from this experience and be empowered to move through and on past this experience.
Thank you.
The fourth step of the Ho'oponopono prayer is I love you.
It is a step for loving of yourself,
Of your family,
Love of your friends and just the day to day people around you in your world.
It is about the love of nature,
All its creatures and inhabitants,
The planet you live on.
It's about loving the path you're on,
Loving the lessons you're getting and learning from,
Loving who you're becoming and you learn and grow.
So send love out to everything around you.
Send it out to the hurt you caused.
Send it out to your heart to heal with forgiveness.
Send it out to the gratitude and appreciation for all the gifts in your life.
Send love out to the point where it makes you smile because when you smile you cannot help but come from a place of love.
Your heart softens,
Your heart heals.
You see the beauty in everything.
You see the unity in everything.
So even the hardest and most challenging situations will be calmed and soothed with a smile of love.
So send love out to everything.
Now that you understand the meaning and intention behind the Ho'oponopono prayer,
You can put it into practice as you like.
Some people use it as a mantra as they work through their mala beads,
Either saying,
I'm sorry,
Please forgive me,
Thank you,
I love you,
Or just the words,
Ho'oponopono,
With the heartfelt intention of I'm sorry,
Please forgive me,
Thank you,
And I love you.
Others use it as a chant as they sit in silence or with crystal singing bowl music playing in the background.
Others use it as a prayer or as a meditation practice.
The power in healing using the Ho'oponopono is in feeling the emotions of remorse and forgiveness and gratitude and love.
Those emotions help to release any lower vibrational negative energies from your being and you allow yourself to be forgiven,
To learn your lessons,
Fill your heart and mind for gratitude for those lessons,
And continue to spread your love and shine your light in the world.
Remember,
Hurts that are in the past cannot be undone.
There is zero benefit for your highest and greatest good to hang on to those lower vibrational energies in your mind,
Your heart,
Your body,
Your spirit.
They just drag you down.
So learn what you need to learn.
Appreciate the lessons.
Appreciate the people who have helped you with those lessons and keep sending the love out to the world.
Be who you are meant to be,
Your truth,
Your authentic self.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.
With much love.
Namaste.

I love this! As a resident of Hawaii, I am already familiar. You have a great way of humbly explaining it and making it into a powerful meditation tool. As you may be aware, we have a pressing issue on our island. The sacred Mauna Kea is being threatened by another telescope, this time a giant one. There is already another similar telescope being built on Chile, and even though the location may not be as great, what happens when this technology becomes outdated? Do we just keep building telescopes here and disregarding the laws and demands of the people who consider this sacred land? Those who prioritize space exploration above human lives would want to build another and another telescope. By the way, the law on this island is not to build anything taller than 7 stories. This telescope would have a huge negative environmental effect. Why don't we instead invest money in reversing climate change or solving world hunger or any of the pressing issues on this planet?
