What Are You Waiting For?
by Lauri Albert
Planning for the future is important to a certain point but living in the RIGHT now is where fulfillment is! My dear friend, Pierre Bensusan, has permitted me to use his track called ‘Sentimentales Pyromaniaques’ from the album 'Altiplanos'.

Let's begin our day with a little bit of happy talk and meditation in this short yet impactful podcast designed to infuse a little bit of positivity into each moment of every day.
Let's get in the flow.
So my husband and I,
Well,
I guess I should say it this way.
I,
Because I can only speak for me,
I learned a massive lesson the other day and I really want to share this with you.
My husband has this friend who is retirement age,
Right?
And he and his wife sold everything here in Los Angeles that they had and they moved to be with like family back East,
Cheaper,
Right?
And it was great for them.
They bought like this big thing of land and it was great.
Fantastic.
They had all these plans for their retirement,
Right?
How beautiful,
How perfect is that,
Right?
These are like plans like my husband and I talk about all the time,
Right?
Like where do you want to go?
What do you want to do?
Trips you want to take,
Hobbies you want to do,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Right?
So his friends moved to be closer to family and for like two weeks it was fantastic.
They were like living the dream.
And then the virus that shall remain nameless struck.
And one week later he crossed over,
Right?
Gone.
You can't even know the level of shock when my husband came in the door.
He was literally ashen,
You know,
And in complete shock.
No one ever,
You know,
You don't think about these things,
Right?
And I could get into all the crap about the virus that shall remain nameless,
Which I love.
My friend Tara said it that way,
Right?
But that's not the issue today.
We're not talking about the virus.
I want to talk about living in the now.
I've been having conscious or subconscious thoughts,
You know,
That like all these trips and these things that we talk about doing,
You know,
We've been having all these thoughts and all these excitement,
Exciting ideas,
I guess I should say.
And then when this happened,
I thought to myself,
Why do we wait?
Why?
Do we wait because of the money?
Do we wait because of the jobs or the timing?
What?
Why?
It's ridiculous.
And we've all had situations like this where we think we should just go do it or,
You know,
It's,
It's stupid.
I have arthritis in my feet and I know this is a little too much information.
However,
However,
It screws with my walking.
Like seriously,
It screws with my walking.
Okay.
I have to plan,
Blah,
Blah,
Whatever.
I don't,
I'm not going to get into the whole thing,
But it messes with me.
So I think to myself,
Why are we waiting to go on that trip to Italy?
Why?
Why are we waiting?
Because it's not convenient.
It's kind of like when you have a kid and they say,
You know,
A lot of people wait,
Oh,
We gotta be financially set and we gotta have a house before we have a kid.
Why wait?
Nothing is ever going to be perfect.
Nothing is going to be perfect.
So my point about this whole thing is live in the now.
And here's the other part.
More importantly than,
Than in this whole scheme of it all,
More even importantly than that is living in,
Living in the now and being happy.
It's not even about necessarily doing stuff or going on trips or whatever.
It's about feeling that satisfaction and feeling fulfilled in your life now.
We've got,
I hate to say it this way,
But we've got a limited time on this,
On this earth.
We've got a limited time,
You know?
So living in the moment right here,
Right now,
Be present now,
Be here now,
Ram Dass says.
The most important thing we can do for ourselves,
Right?
So our meditation today,
Our mantra for today,
We're going to meditate on living in the now.
Let's get ourselves comfortable.
We're going to meditate on this.
I want,
I want spirit to show all of us that we can live in the now by being happy,
By being satisfied.
What would that take?
What would that look like for you to live in the now and be happy and satisfied?
So let's close our eyes.
Meditation is good for us.
It calms us down,
Helps us get to that place of being present,
Right?
So what are you grateful for today?
What is going well?
What is good about today?
What are you happy about?
What is going,
What are you grateful for?
So our mantra,
As we get ready to sit in the stillness,
Our mantra for today is this.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
So I will keep the time if you forget the mantra,
Just go back and focus on your breath because this is about being present.
So if we stress about the mantra,
We're not being present,
Are we?
So if you forget it,
It's fine.
Just go back,
Concentrate on your breath.
I will keep the time and let's begin.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
I choose to live in this moment,
Which is limitless with happiness and fulfillment.
Let's start bringing our awareness back.
And let's take a deep breath in,
Feeling the air in our lungs in that present moment,
This present moment.
Namaste.
