Let's begin our day with a little bit of happy talk and meditation in this short yet impactful podcast designed to infuse a little bit of positivity into each moment of every day.
Let's get in the flow.
We're kicking it all up a notch today.
The chanting,
Right?
I'm excited.
I hope you guys are too.
Put your headphones in or don't actually.
The chant that we are going to do today is one of the most common,
I wouldn't say common,
But one of the most popular.
If you're familiar at all with Krishna Das,
Everybody knows this chant if you know Krishna Das.
Anyway,
It's Om Namah Shivaya.
It's actually a chant that is to bow to Lord Shiva,
Who is one of the three main Hindu gods with Brahma and Vishnu.
Shiva is known as the destroyer of time,
Right?
However,
But he's also the creator of goodness,
Right?
So when we chant Om Namah Shivaya,
We are chanting to get rid of purge ourselves of negativity.
Don't we all need that?
Purging ourselves of the negativity and then inviting in the liberation and the freedom.
It's awesome.
I mean,
It's really great.
So some people though have translated Om Namah Shivaya as like a bowing down to themselves because Lord Shiva,
It's taught that he lives in all of us in our consciousness.
So when you say Om Namah Shivaya,
You are kind of giving yourself adulation,
You know,
And that's what's so great about it because we need to bow down to ourselves.
Think about ourselves,
Purge ourselves of any negativity,
Right?
So there's just something about this particular chant that just makes me feel alive,
Absolutely alive.
Yeah.
So we are going to chant today.
Are you ready?
We're going to do it 108 times for the ultimate purity,
Which is great,
Right?
Here's the thing.
I use a Shruti box.
I just need to say this and you'll understand why.
I use this thing called a Shruti box.
It's an instrument,
Right?
So I did a chant not too long ago and someone said,
You know,
Your computer noise is really loud.
It's actually supposed to be that.
It's an instrument.
So if you can hear it,
It's a chord.
It's actually a C chord,
Right?
So you kind of just go with that.
Okay.
Now here's the thing about chanting before I get started.
We're going to do it.
I'm going to do it 108 times.
You can sing along.
You can hum along.
You can just listen.
But I request that you open your heart.
Okay.
You open your heart to what Shiva can offer you in terms of lifting and purging ourselves of any negativity.
I mean,
We all have a little bit of that in there,
Right?
And so to me,
We can always purge it,
You know?
And then once we are purged of the negativity,
We invite in the liberation and the peace and the freedom.
Isn't that gorgeous?
And you know what?
What a great way.
What a great way to start off your day,
Right?
Can you imagine starting off every day,
Inviting in freedom into your life,
Inviting in that moksha right into your life?
It's fantastic.
So I hope we're ready.
Are you guys ready?
Here's the thing.
Are you ready?
I know I get goofy and you know,
Whatever.
But I just want to make sure everybody's ready for this because I hope that you can just sing along.
All right.
Here we go.
All right.
So let's take a nice deep breath in and release very slow.
