Namaste and welcome to the Spirit Room's daily podcast,
In the Flow with Laurie Albert,
Where we discuss spirituality,
Meditate,
And allow positivity to envelop every aspect of our souls.
Welcome.
Today,
I want to talk about how to create happiness for others and ourselves.
How do we do that?
I think it's no secret,
It's no secret that I like happiness.
You know?
Actually,
When I think about it,
I prefer to feel good,
And who doesn't?
Instead of feeling sad,
You know?
I like people around me to feel happy.
You know?
I mean,
That's kind of who I am.
That's what I prefer,
Right?
My grandfather was that way,
Too.
My grandfather would go to great lengths,
I mean,
He would stand on his head if he thought that you would smile.
He would do anything,
He would go to any length to put a smile on your face,
To see you smile,
Right?
And there's a part of me that's like that,
I wouldn't say I would stand on my head,
But I love seeing people smile around me.
It warms me.
It makes me happy,
Right?
So we need to acknowledge,
Though,
When we are happy,
When we are frustrated,
When we are impatient,
Insecure,
And even fearful,
There's a time for that.
But when we are happy,
We manifest things easily,
Or easier.
Life seems a little bit easier.
We feel relaxed.
When we're happy,
We are relaxed.
I love that.
So how do we get ourselves to a place of happiness,
Right?
So here's my question.
How do we fear?
First of all,
Fear is like the lowest emotion.
So when we're fearful,
We need to pick ourselves up from that.
And on that emotional guidance scale,
Bring ourselves up,
Even just that little bit.
Because when you're in fear,
There's only up to go,
Right?
So maybe get up to a place of doubtful,
Or insecurity,
Or low self-esteem.
I mean,
Those are like,
Believe it or not,
Those are like up from fear.
I know,
It sounds kind of crazy,
But that's how we get up.
And then once you go up a little bit,
Then maybe you can get your,
You know,
Take your brain to take you to another place.
And finally,
You get to a place of happiness,
Joy,
Love.
And I know I just made that sound really simple.
But if you work at it,
You can achieve that,
Okay?
So but for today,
I want to ask a question.
And this would be really good for anybody that's feeling fearful or sad or low self-esteem or insecure,
All of that.
What truly makes you happy?
Like,
What is it that when you,
When something happens,
And you go,
Oh my god,
And it's like,
It makes you thrilled?
What is that?
Like,
When out of the blue,
You find yourself smiling for no reason?
What is that?
Right?
What is that?
How can we make that happen more often?
Okay,
So now I want to tell you guys this really kind of strange story.
This is really bizarre to me anyway,
Right?
All these people,
You know,
You see all throughout,
Like if on TV and everywhere,
Right?
People talk,
I can't go on Instagram,
Because it makes me crazy.
I feel so bad about myself when I'm on Instagram,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Whatever,
Right?
For me,
I have to tell you,
I don't know how I've bucked that system somehow.
But for me,
When I'm on Instagram,
I see stuff about manifestation.
I see babies giggling.
I see animals,
Puppies and kittens.
Seriously,
I see nature.
Oh my god,
The nature stuff that's on there,
Right?
I don't see,
Nothing comes up news-wise,
No celebrity gossip,
None of that stuff.
And I don't know why,
Like how to lose weight and how I should lose weight,
None of that stuff comes up for me.
I've bucked their algorithm.
That's what I feel like.
All of that junk,
I don't know how I bucked that system.
But I think it has to do with,
Just an aside,
I think it has to do with how long you might stay on a place,
And they give you more of that.
When I see,
I just love watching babies,
I know that sounds so bizarre,
But I love watching babies giggle and do funny things.
Climb where they're not supposed to,
As long as they're safe,
You know?
I love that.
But I know that a lot of people get triggered by the bad stuff that Instagram can give you,
Or any social media,
It's not just there,
Right?
So,
What we can do,
What can we do to give ourselves that little bit of oomph of happiness?
Well,
Let's think about those things.
Those things that actually bring a smile to your face.
What brings a smile to your face?
Snow?
Rain?
Honestly,
It does to me.
I love rain.
I mean,
It hardly rains here,
So.
The babies on Instagram.
Kittens,
Puppies,
You know?
Whatever it is for you,
Own it,
And make yourself,
Like seriously,
If I have,
Which I rarely do lately,
Have 10 minutes to myself,
I will go to Instagram and just watch the babies.
Watch the puppies.
Dancing,
Sleeping in.
Those are the things that make us happy.
Own it.
Coffee.
I want to do a really great meditation today.
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
I'm so excited about this meditation because it felt like it was completely channeled.
So let's sit quietly,
Relax our bodies.
Just a little bit.
Relax your body.
Relax your mind.
So the term,
So hum,
Means I am.
This mantra is so great for becoming grounded and connecting with our higher self.
Love.
So let's take a nice deep breath in through our nose and out.
And as we sit here,
I will be infusing today's meditation with love,
The energy of love.
You can repeat to yourself,
So hum.
So hum means I am.
And as you repeat this mantra over and over,
Just listen to my voice and sink into the power of happiness.
I am happy.
I am enough.
I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
I am grateful.
I am healthy.
I am free.
I am confident.
I am worthy.
I am courageous.
I am strong.
I am a good person.
I am wise.
I am possibility.
I am safe.
I am joyful.
I am successful.
I am abundant.
I am needed.
I am loved.
I am appreciated.
I am peace.
I am kind.
I am thankful.
I am happy.
As you go throughout your day,
May you take so hum with you everywhere you go.
Namaste.
